So, I took it to the dealer, and they said it was a defective unit, so they changed it with a brand new one. It's been like 2 months since then, and yesterday, I tried to load a CD and I got that same error message again!!! And then there's nothing you can do about it, I have to listen to the radio, go to work, and by lunch time, it works again. Has anybody had the same problem??? __________________ 10-19-2005, 09:28 PM #2 sciontc_mich Senior Member SL Member 2005 Scion tC Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Michigan yeah it's been reported a couple of times.. i went through a couple of single disc headunits as well for another problem (wouldn't play cd's but no error number).. go back to the dealer (obviously) and have them gi

Two things I learned that may be helpful to the next person installing one of these: 1) You can unplug the http://www.spyderchat.com/forums/showthread.php?27729-Anyone-tried-a-DIY-repair-for-Scion-6-cd-error-3-4 OEM radio and plug in the Scion HU from the drivers floorboard without doing any disassembly whatsoever; so make sure your new unit works before you start removing trim and screws for the actual installation. 2) My cd changer showed an error 3 on arrival: turning the unpowered unit upside down and LIGHTLY hitting the back of the unit with the palm of my hand three times, then powering it up while holding down both "cd" and "up" buttons successfully parked the unit in SHIP mode; then I unplugged the unit, gave it a couple minutes for any capacitors to run down, plugged it back in, powered it, and pushed "LOAD", and it works flawlessly.... for now. Good luck. So I searched and read about a dozen threads related to this subject. However, only one resulted in a fix, and that was after two (2) trips to an authorized Pioneer service center and $350. It seems like a great many of the people buying this unit get either the error 3 or error 4 code (Im getting the error 3), so my question is this: Has anyone attempted a repair on their own? I know the common theory is

I've had my FRS for several months now and I've noticed a little kink in the USB connection to my iPhone. Sometimes upon changing songs I get the "USB Connection Error" message which is fine so long as I replug in the device, but more error 4 scion so recently I got the Error 4 message that seems to plague the Pioneer head units in Scions. Now I read up something on scionlife about replacing the unit but after restarting the car/unit and cycling through FM/CD and then finally USB again I managed to get a charge to my phone and viola it works again . I am under warranty for at least another 70,000 miles but should I go ahead and head to the dealer or is this just something normal for all units? I'm used to my older cars so I tend to just bite the bullet with any technical issues. __________________ DrSleepy View Public Profile Send a private message to DrSleepy Find More Posts by DrSleepy 07-04-2013, 11:13 PM #2 UNICRN <3 Tory Burch <3 Join Date: Dec 2012 Drives: M/T 10 Series #0039 Location: Lafayette, Louisiana Posts: 90 Thanks: 90 Thanked 82 Times in 25 Posts Mentioned: 8 Post(s) Tagged: 0 Thread(s) Quote: Originally Posted by DrSleepy I've had my FRS for several months now and I've noticed a little kink in the USB connection to my iPhone.
