Error 6 Mounting Root Dev Hd 1 42
partition from SCO Unix to DOS. Later, he tries to change SCO Unix partition back to boot he gets the above message. He has an Emergency Boot diskette but no backup. How can I, shall I say we, help him? When I tried his Emergency Boot diskettes, the message "cannot find root disk controller" comes up when %DSK 14 type=W0 unit=0 cycls=1048 hds=16 secs=63 is displayed. Any suggestions. I installed a passive terminator on the connector. it also suggested removing all extranneous peripherals from the scsi bus. I still have anIBM scsi II HD ID# 0 and a NED CDR222 scsi cd-rom ID# 5. The tid said to reinstall. My reinstall fails with the software termination disabled on the controller. Q. should I have used an active terminator? I am currentley in a situation where i need to replace our aging Hp sco openserver 5 server with a new HP DL380 G5. I would much rather save the current configuration by using P2V to move the machine into a vm environment.
