Given the expression, either the contents of FitValarr(i), or the expression 2^(j-1) could be overflowing. Suggest all the the variables presently declared as Int be changed to Long. Long integers are 32-bit signed values and provide a correspondingly larger range of possible values. share|improve this answer answered Sep 25 '12 at 18:15 David W 7,5681741 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the

I ran it also in VB6,no problems. What's wrong in this ? Thanks ! bbouwer View Public Profile Find More Posts by bbouwer 01-02-2010, 09:26 AM #2 pbaldy Wino Moderator Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: Nevada, USA Posts: 28,920 Thanks: 6 Thanked 3,234 Times in 3,180 Posts Re: runtime error 6 overflow Just for chuckles, try making them both Long instead of Integer. Also, you declare a variable you don't use, and use a variable you haven't declared (though I doubt either contributes to your error). __________________ Paul Microsoft Access MVP To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I would suggest using decimal numbers and converting the resultant to an integer as a last step. __________________ Now using Linux (Ubuntu). Doing database development with Firefox/MySQL. Overflow. Since you've hard coded the 256 * 256 you could replace that with 65536, or you can append '&' to a number which coerces it to a Long data type. If you multiply Long * Long VBA expects a Long ... Code: Debug.Print TypeName(256), TypeName(256&) intSubmap1 = Int(intDocID / (256& * 256&))
