I https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/gg278733.aspx ran it also in VB6,no problems. What's wrong in this ? Also, you declare a variable you don't use, and use a variable you haven't declared (though I doubt either contributes to your error). __________________ Paul Microsoft Access MVP To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I would suggest using decimal numbers and converting the resultant to an integer as a last step. __________________ Now using Linux (Ubuntu). Doing database development with Firefox/MySQL. What's the content (.Value) of oInvoicePost.Header("INVOICE_NUMBER") and how is it defined? This kind of error happens when you try to assign a value to someting (a variable, a property) and that this value is out of the range capacity of the recipient (too large or too small). Generate_Sage_Invoice = oInvoicePost.Header("INVOICE_NUMBER").Value is basically the line that tells the database to generate an invoice number from Sage Accounting software. To understand what happens we need to know what's the definition of Generate_Sage_Invoice (its data type) and what oInvoicePost.Header("INVOICE_NUMBER") contains when the error occurs. have a form with a tab control and on update the form compares the values of totals on two of the pages. here is the code: 'Check Advances on page 5 with page 2 totadvances = ([txtAdv0] + [txtAdv750] + [txtAdv1500] + [txtAdv7500] + [txtAdv15000] + [txtAdv75000] + [txtAdv150000]) totadvances2 = ([txtAdvancessole] + [txtAdvancesassetssole] + [txtAdvancesothersole] + [txtAdvancesassetspart] + [txtAdvancesotherpart] + [txtAdvancespart] + [txtAdvancespartnp] + [txtAdvancesassetsnp] + [txtAdvancesothernp] + [txtAdvABLdebtsole] + [txtAdvABLdebtpart] + [txtAdvABLdebtnp] + [txtAdvABLstocksole] + [txtAdvABLstockpart] + [txtAdvABLstocknp] + [txtAdvABLplantsole] + [txtAdvABLplantpart] + [txtAdvABLplantnp] + [txtAdvABLpropsole] + [txtAdvABLproppart] + [txtAdvABLpropnp] + [txtAdvABLothersole] + [txtAdvABLotherpart] + [txtAdvABLothernp]) If totadvances <> totadvances2 Then strMessage = strMessage & "The total of advances on Page 5 " & _ "does not equal the total of advances on Page 2" & vbCrLf & _ "It should be " & totadvances2 End If totadvances and totadvances2 are defined as integers and the individual fields are defined as double format in the table. However when I move to create a new record I get an error message that says "Error code 6 - Overflow" Can anyone suggest a solution? Many thanks Tony Tony Williams, Oct 6, 2009 #1 Advertisements Tony Williams Guest Soory the problem seems to be with the calculation of totadvances2 as that line is highlighted when i click on the debug button.
