Re: Error message 691 robnc410 Mar 15, 2010 8:09 PM (in response to Denniger) I have been getting the same error message sporadically for the last year. Each time, Verizon support has helped me solve the problem, but I error 691 dial up called them today and they told me they believe my UM150 is broken and of course "out of warranty". I'm not sure I agree because all of the lights are working properlyand my computer states the device is working properly. Error 691 is a username and password error. Does anyone know how to check and/or change the username and password? Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: Error message 691 Brothergrim Mar 16, 2010 2:27 AM (in response to robnc410) If you are getting the user name and password issues. Go into your network and find teh dial up network connections. They will be called national access or Verizon something. Delete all of them. Reboot your computer. Go into the vzam and run detect device in the newer versions or in the older click on options and run wizard. Then try and connect. If this does not work call customer care 800-922-0204. Ask for tech support. Tell them you deleted and resetup dun. Have them check your connection for a possible DMU reset. Solved Problem with Verizon Wireless Access Manager Posted on 2008-03-18 Wireless Networking Wireless Hardware 1 Verified Solution 15 https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/163802 Comments 29,459 Views Last Modified: 2013-11-12 My system: Win XP SP2 updates current I.E. 6.0.2900 SP2 Program at issue: VZAccess Manager ver 6.7.1_2044c-Novatel (Smith Micro Software) Problem: After VZAccess Manager is installed, whenever an application attempts to access the net (i.e., Skype, Antivirus software, Messenger, etc.) with the computer working offline (no card installed, no wireless network connection) a window notification pop-up https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23252640/Problem-with-Verizon-Wireless-Access-Manager.html is produced: (Image is included in attachment - text on image follows) VZAccess This connection can only be used with VZAccess Manager Error QA907 This error occurs regardless of how the program settings are selected: § Start up with Windows, or NOT Start up with Windows § Or if VZAccess is set to find/monitor both WWAN and WiFi, or just WWAN. Effectively, if the computer is NOT connected to the Internet, this pop-up notification is continuously displayed. Uninstalling the program did NOT clear the issue either. After rebooting and determining that the pop-up would not stop, I used a registry cleaner to find and remove all occurrences of VZAccess. Only then am I back to normal but, without use of my V740 Air Card. Verizon Wireless tech support tells me that this is not their problem . . . the card works on my system and that is the end of their responsibility / assistance. Using Windows Task Manager I see the running application (VZAccess) is pointing to rasautou.exe which appears to be a healthy Windows program; rasautou.exe is a Windows core system file. The p

Was having error 913 come up after an updat and could never get a connection. I reinstalled the software error 691 windows from the Dell website and then started getting error 691 come up instead of 913 when trying to connect. Called Verizon and got to tech support who initially tried to get me to go through a number of steps which didn't help: Reinstall (did that already), update firmware (did that already), and delete the 3G entries under dial-up under network connections. The tech alluded to a "reset" of sorts that could be done on their end but wouldn't until I went through the other steps. I called again today and got a different tech. I specifically asked them if they could do the reset on their end. The tech had me shut the computer down. Then he did the reset, called a "DMU refresh," which basically refreshes the authentication configuration for the data card on their side (the tech could not tell me what DMU actually stands for). I started the computer back up, started the card utility, and whoa-la! It works! If you get this error, specifically ask a tech to do a DMU refresh for the device, and it should fix the problem. It seems that the update the device received caused a change in the authentication information on the device, which causes the authentication server to no longer recognize it.
