The really strange thing is, error calling method on npobject flash this error only occurs when I create a certain object in the said applet method. Specifically, I have a class I created in the GWT "shared" folder, which serializes a class into a JSON string from an instance of this class within the client javascript. The Java applet also instanciates this class in java space, within the said method. When I don't attempt to instanciate this class within the applet method, it runs and returns no problem. Shouldn't the java instanciation be totally independant of GWT? Also, I wonder why i'm not getting a stack trace in my java console if this exception is occurring within java. Not sure if this is relevant, but I'm using the GWTAI project for Applet->JavaScript callbacks TIA for any responses, Phaedrus 02:40:22.848 [ERROR] [u] Uncaught exception escaped com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptException: (Error): Error calling method on NPObject. stack: Error: Error calling method on NPObject. at [object Object]. in my app (no actionscript!). Is it possible that this error comes from some newrelic.jar class ? tdoherty 2014-07-07 15:33:00 UTC #3 Hi Daniel, It is difficult to https://discuss.newrelic.com/t/error-calling-method-on-npobject/2964 say what might be causing this. But as an initial troubleshooting step, lets try to eliminate some of your browswer addons. Can you try use Chrome in Incognito mode, or with all addons disabled and see if this helps? Please let us know how that goes for you. Also, it would be very useful to know if your page has any adds in it, Google, Bing etc. Tom daniel_goldberg 2014-07-07 error calling 18:21:31 UTC #4 Hi Tom, thanks for reply. We don't have any addon in our page. I could not reproduce the error. I tested the page with IE, Firefox and Chrome (Mac and Windows environment) and nothing happens but in our page, in the last six hours, we had 65 NPObject error. We only have one js library (Strophe - https://github.com/strophe/strophejs) but it doesn't need any flash file. Do you have error calling method additional information about this error in our app? alexis 2014-07-08 16:40:04 UTC #5 To help us investigate this further, can you provide a URL to the page on your site where you're seeing this error occur? That way we can take a look at how the New Relic monitoring scripts are being injected and what they may be interacting with. NPObject is not only used for Flash or Actionscript (although this is a very common case where it appears); it's an interface to any foreign (non-Javascript) code. It also would be helpful if you could provide a permalink to the application your site is reporting to in New Relic. To create a permalink to any page within the New Relic user interface, scroll to the bottom and click 'Permalink ∞' all the way on the right next to 'Kiosk Mode.' This will show us the exact page and time period that you are observing. It's safe to post a permalink on the forum; only New Relic staff and users with existing access to your account will be able to use it. daniel_goldberg 2014-07-08 19:08:51 UTC #6 Hi Alexis, It's not possible to give you a link now, only certain users could access to this part of the
