Calling DTS Experts : Problem with OpenRowSet amit_outworx asked Nov 17, 2006 | Replies (2) Dear Sirs, I have created a DTS package using DTS GUI (only way I know to make it). I get the data from an Oracle database based machine rightly. but if I repeat the same steps on another machine, my connection is successful to the source, the 'test connection' validates that. but as I

MSACCESS and Excel are working fine but seems like it has some issues with SQL.In SQL 2000 I'm getting the following error when trying to import the data:Error Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC DriversError Description: [providex] [ODBC Driver] Unexpected extra token:Context: Error Calling error calling openrowset OpenRowset on the provider. In SQL 2005 I'm not even getting the list of tables.Any ideas anyone????ThanksOren Oren Levy 12 Jul 2010 2:44 PM Cancel 11 Replies Code 13 Jul 2010 6:55 AM Oren, see if this page helps: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Microsoft/Applications/FoxPro/Q_22714256.html Cancel wakeet 9 Jan 2011 8:58 AM Were you able to resolve this issue?I find myself with the exact same problem. Cancel wakeet 9 Jan 2011 10:53 AM I found a solution. On the Transform Data Task Properties of the SQL 2000 DTS:Instead of selecting the Source Table use a SQL query to build the selection. i.e. select * from IM_ItemIn v 4.3 the DTS task would see the table as IM_Item in the dropdown. In v 4.4 the DTS sees the table as "IM.Item"."IM.Item". I believe the decimal and everything after is throwing the "unexpected extra token" error. Cancel DFeller 10 Jan 2011 7:58 AM I believe you want "SELECT * FROM CI_ITEM" not IM_Item.Dawn Cancel wakeet 10 Jan 2011 8:59 AM Oops...You are correct...Typo.I guess that is what happens when you spend all weekend working on an upgrade! Cancel ChuckBlingin 26 Apr 2011 6:31 AM So how do you quickly bring over many tables?Doing a query call for each table seems really inefficient.
