Please Login to Remove! I'm about to just give up. After spending forever organizing my contacts and calendars and getting rid of a bunch of duplicate entries, Missing Sync decided to quit working. I've done a battery pull and have restarted my Mac, but I'm still getting this error... Starting sync at 9/26/08 4:37 PM... BlackberryUSBDevice::openUSBInterface Error communicating with device. USBInterfaceOpen failed (e00002c5). BlackberryUSBDevice: dealloc Synchronization cancelled due to error. Could not connect to device. I tried syncing with PocketMac and it worked, but PocketMac kinda sucks and doesn't even sync everything correctly. I want to use Missing Sync. Any ideas? Uninstall PocketMac or reinstall Missing Sync and then Missing Sync should connect. I'm going to uninstall PocketMac, so hopefully I'll be able to get everything back to normal with Missing Sync again. Thank you, and cross your fingers for me. ;) Offline 09-26-2008, 04:54 PM #4 (permalin

Comm... Desktop/On-Premise: Error Communicating with Server Last Updated: Oct 10, 2016 05:02PM MDT When you tryto log in to the eFileCabinet Client and get an http://support.efilecabinet.com/customer/portal/articles/1471866-error-communicating-with-server error that says “Error Communicating with the Server. Please refresh your server list." perform the following troubleshooting steps: 1. Check to make certain your eFileCabinetserver is http://phoboslab.org/log/2009/07/uvc-camera-control-for-mac-os-x running. This is done from the server machine. Go to the bottom right hand corner and right click on the eFileCabinet Icon. From the menu, select either error communicating Start or Restart, whichever is displaying in the space provided. 2. Check to make certain you are logging in to the server usingthecorrect IP address. (If your computer has more than one network adapter (ie. wireless card, ethernet), then it is possible that your server may show up multiple times with different error communicating with IP addresses. If this is the case, trial and error is the best way to figure out which IP address is the correct one. Once you find the correct one, eFileCabinet software should remember it.) a. This test requires that you know the IP address of your server, you can sometimes find this out by opening eFileCabinet and looking at the “Server:” field (the IP address is usually a number in the following format ###.###.###.###, for example 192.168.1.2 or 10.10.10.5). b. Once you have the IP address go to Start>Run… and type “cmd’ or type into the search “cmd” (no quotation marks). c. This should bring up the DOS prompt in the DOS prompt type “ping
my Mac and was quite surprised to see that it just works. There was no need to install any drivers. As I learned later, that's because the QuickCam 9000 is a UVC webcam for which Mac OS X 10.4.9 already provides a driver. I was able to get to the raw camera images through the QTKit Framework in no time. However, the QuickCam 9000 has its auto exposure enabled by default, which is absolutely deadly for stable tracking results. I thought I could just turn the auto exposure off and set it to a fixed value through some QTKit API – but no, there's no way to change the exposure of a UVC camera with QTKit. In fact, there's no way to change any parameters of your camera. No exposure values, no white balance, no gain, nothing. Apple just implemented the bare minimum in its UVC driver and the QTkit Framework. Well, maybe I could get to these parameters through the older Sequence Grabber Framework then? After all, there's a VDIIDCSetFeatures function and a vdIIDCFeatureExposure key! But nope, as the name implies, this stuff only works for IIDC cameras. What's an IIDC camera? Wil Shipley asked the same questions almost 3 years ago - even back then, IIDC cameras were pretty much deprecated. Still, these cameras are the only devices that Apple provides an API for, if you want to change some esoteric parameters no one would ever need to change, like oh, the exposure time or white balance temperature for instance. Apple is aware of the problem but hasn't done anything to solve it. And Logitech apparently doesn't see the need to provide a Mac driver for their cameras, since Mac OS X already ships with one. Great. But wait, UVC is a standard, right? USB.org provides a documentation for all device classes, and the Video Class is no exception. So, I poked around in the documentation for a while, read some Linux UVC driver sourcecode and used Apple's USB Prober to see what's going on. After some more hours of playing around with the Kernel Framework's USB API, I was finally able to control some of the QuickCam's settings! UVCCameraControl class I've now cleaned up the source a bit and organized everything in a UVCCameraControl class. You can use it like this: UVCCameraControl * cameraControl = [[UVCCameraControl alloc] initWithVendorID:0x046d productID:0x0990
