You could get more information via Apple's Configuration Utility:http://www.evernote.com/pub/ensupport/f ... 889363d100I'd recommend that you try uninstalling our app, reboot the iPhone, and then reinstall from the App Store. Thanks Share this post Link to post jpaulus   0 Member 0 3 posts Posted April 5, 2010 Reinstalling worked. Share this post Link to post Borya82   0 Member 0 1 post Posted December 2, 2014 I've had the same issue since upgrading to version 6.0.2 for OS X Yosemite about a week ago. The activity log contains the following entry: "Error Domain=ENSyncEngineErrorDomain Code=-1005 \"Synchronization failed.\" UserInfo=0x618000263040 https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/78470-sync-fails/ {NSLocalizedDescription=Synchronization failed., exception=TTransportException: Bad response from HTTP server: 503, NSLocalizedRecoverySuggestion=Synchronization failed because of an error communicating with the Evernote servers.  Please try again later.}" The failure occurs regardless of network and location i.e. replicated on my laptop on both my home and work networks. I have also tried re-installing Evernote to no avail. Share this post Link to post mikematto   2 Member 2 8 posts Posted December 2, 2014 There are multiple threads on this.  Many of us are experiencing this issue. Multiple folks have submitted multiple trouble tickets and not received responses.  They are also not responding to the chat line from their support site.  Not sure what's going on over there.... Share this post Link to post Brutus   0 Member 0 5 posts Posted December 2, 2014 I cannot sync either on any platform! It really begins to annoy me. I have been trying to get in touch with Evernote through this forum, by sending in a ticket and by sending (direct and regular) messages via Twitter. No success on either of these platforms. I really am relying on this software and love it most of the time, but there is stuff in there that I can't get out now!!!Â

Now I have an iPad I have a use for it and on the iPad it seems fine, at least locally, as it does in Chrome on my Mac. However with the Mac app the Activity pane just says 'Syncing with Evernote/Contacting server … ' indefinitely and finally produces the alert 'Synchronisation failed./Synchronisation failed because of an error communicating with the Evernote servers. Please try error communicating with again later.' I have tried later, then days later, and it is just the same. I have checked the boards and though logging in seems to be a known Evernote problem it is not so at the moment. Cheers, Colin Share this post Link to post Metrodon   1,810 Bankrobber Guru 1,810 5,918 posts Posted February 28, 2013 That's a really old version of the app - you should try and get a new version either from the App Store or directly from the Evernote site. Share this post Link to post csbc   1 Member + 1 32 posts Posted February 28, 2013 Thanks, that fixed it, though the sync was very slow. It looks a lot more complicated, a lot to learn. Oddly I deleted a text note I had made and after several refreshes it is still there in Chrome tho. BTW, is there any way to lock or encrypt a note, as for instance in GoodReader? Thanks again, Colin Share this post Link to post Metrodon   1,810 Bankrobber Guru 1,810 5,918 posts Posted February 28, 2013 You can encrypt text in a note - highlight the text in question and right click. You can't lock or encrypt a whole note. The initial sync was probably doing a reindex as well so it will have taken a little longer. Share

Today I completely uninstalled Evernote using in application called AppZapper.I just installed a fresh copy of Evernote for Mac today and tried signing in for the first time. When trying to sign in for the first time I continue to receive this message:Communication failure.Login failed because of an error communicating with the Evernote servers. Please try again later. I verified that I am connected to the internet and I also turned off the firewall. I have tried two different wireless connections and get the same result.I currently use this account on another Mac and Blackberry. We are working on some communication errors; however, we believe them to be fixed at this time. I answered that the troubles were still disturbing the use of evernote. In our team, it became so distractive that it compromised our work. We lost notes on some computers. We are going to go back to Google Docs. What surprised me the most was to realize that I just got no answer from Evernote.I give until the end of the week to see if I get eventually an answer, or an explanation, if not some excuses before asking for a refund.
