thing to the same shared drive so i know it is not a problem with space on the server. I did manage to find a reg edit which seemed to solve the problem temporarly but has no come back the same as before. The PC is XP Pro and has plenty on memory free when he tries to do this and only has outlook running.Any ideas how we can error copying file or folder unspecified error fix this once and for all.Regards. Wednesday, November 04, 2009 10:26 AM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi, thanks for the reply, i may try the check disk scan as i have checked the permissions on he remote drive and it is all fine. The last time we had this come up i did the reg edit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet \Services \LanmanServer \Parameters IRPStackSize DWORD 0x0000000f (15) as he did not have this key, when i added it and restarted it was all working fine, now has gone back to how it was before. Does this key need to be in there as it is not on my machine and i can copy over files fine. Thanks again. Chris. enough server storage is available to process this command', is an annoying error that I have come across a couple of times when using some of the machines at work and home over the past error copying file or folder windows 10 few years. This isn't an error that will affect every user, but, if you do

come across it, then here are a couple of reasons as to why it can happen: You don't have a DWORD VALUE for

IRPStackSize in your registry You have a DWORD VALUE for IRPStackSize in your registry but the data value is set too low What might have triggered the error message? You are trying to map a drive? You are https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/8c87860d-1f9e-4650-81c9-7a8fca2b3562/error-copying-file-folder-not-enough-storage-is-available-to-process-this-command?forum=winservergen trying to access a shared folder over a network that you set up correctly? You are trying to share files/ drives between a Windows 7 machine and a Windows XP machine You are trying to print over a network, where the printer driver resides on another machine on that network. (This was my 2nd occurrence) Those are just the kind of things I was doing when the error was triggered. The main time that it has come up though http://www.techfleece.com/2011/03/03/how-to-fix-not-enough-server-storage-is-available-to-process-this-command-error/ is when I have correctly set up file sharing over a network and have had no problems accessing those folders and the out of the blue I would get the error message which would prevent me from accessing those files/ drives. Note, that in your Event logs it may show up as, ‘Event ID 2011'. At work all of our machines are running XP Pro and normally work perfectly fine. However, every now and then (and it is rare) this issue will throw a spanner in the works. Normally on a busy day, but that's Sod's Law. It can also occur when trying to share files/ drives between machines running Windows 7 and Windows XP (this is due to the IRPStackSize on the different OS's being different by default) If the error does come up when you are trying to share files between a Windows 7 PC and a Windows XP machine, then the IRPStackSize adjustment needs to be increased on the XP machine not the Windows 7 one. Default value sizes for IRPStackSize in Windows NT | 2000 | XP: Windows NT 4.0 - 11 (default value) Windows 2000 - 15 (default value) Windows XP - 15 (default value) There are many, many things that can cause the IRPStackSize to become too small, but one of the most common reasons are anti-virus software that has

Error Copying File or Folder Cannot Copy file name here : Not enough server storage is available to process this command This error may occur if the File or Folder count on Unity exceeds the limitations, which can be found at this link: Avid Unity File & Folder Limitation Chart If the File or Folder count are within the correct ranges, the error may occur due to the block size (or chunk size) on a workspace. By design, a larger block size allows room for more data per block but will be harder to copy multiple files at once. If instead a few files are being copied, it should be easier for copying. For example, when copying from workspace to workspace with large block sizes: Copying 10 GB of 1,000 files/folders may fail. Copying 10 GB of 10 files/folders, should copy over. The current workarounds are the following: 1. Copy small chunks at a time (e.g. if copying 10 GB, split it up by copying 1 GB or 5 GB chunks at a time) 2. Use WinZip or other

Two (NTFS) internal and one (FAT32) external. A 300GB (NTFS) with about 14GB of free space. A 60GB (NTFS) with 9GB of free space. A 160GB (FAT32) with 149GB of free space. I am getting this error message while trying to transfer a 4GB Movie from the 300GB HD to the 160GB HD saying "Error copying file or folder, There is not enough free disk space". Obviously there is enough disk space on the target drive for the movie but for some reason or another it doesn't think so. Windows also recognizes that there is the correct amount of space available, it only says there isn't when I try to transfer. I tested transferring with other files and it works fine, its just that file. I also tried transferring it to the 60GB HD and it worked without any problems. My questions are: Is there something wrong with the file? Is it that there isn't enough room in a temporary folder for it to transfer a file that big? Is it the fact that they are different file systems? Is there something wrong with my HD? Or is it something that i'm not thinking of? Thanks for your help.
