Please help me with this one.A friend of mine brought me his laptop and told me that when he logs on to the net, his bandwidth was maxed out. The outgoing bytes were in the MEGA region and incoming was next to nil. He had Ad Aware loaded already, and it found nothing.I installed Spy-bot S&D, with the latest includes, and after running a check, the following message was displayed:Error during check!: Xuron55.Installdollars (Datei C:\WINDOWS\win.ini kann nicht geöffnet werden. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process)I then downloaded and ran the latest HJT. The next time I tried to boot up my computer I received a message that windows could not boot up because a file named "CDAINT2F.VXD" could not be found. I am now only able to access that computer through DOS by using a setup disk. error during Is it possible that I might have quarantined that file? Either with adaware or spybot? I accessed the "system.ini" file and edited out the line "DEVICE=CDAINT2F.VXD" The computer then gave an "Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module Explorer.exe at 0177: 00401f31" error. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process) ()" This appears to be a program error (problem with Spybot) and not an actual spyware program that is on your computer. Spybot S&d Problem Started by 420cid , Jan 30 2005 08:47 AM Please log in to reply 11 replies to this topic #1 420cid 420cid Member Members 37 posts Posted 30 January 2005 - 08:47 AM Hi all. I'm having trouble completing Spybot S&D scans. I keep getting errors during checks. This is the error: Cabrotor [Datei C:\WINDOWS\win.ini kann nicht geoffnet werden. The process could not access the file because it is being used by another process.] Spybot then reports that my system is clean. If the program couldn't access this file then it hasn't been scanned so I can't accept that it is indeed a clean scan. How can I correct this error? This started about three weeks ago and I don't know where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Doug Edited by 420cid, 30 January 2005 - 08:50 AM. To get into Safe Mode, tap the F8 key repeatedly at 1st boot. You'll eventually see a boot menu, of which Safe Mode should be a choice.
