Something to do with a text update if I recall. Latest update should take care of it. Download latest update and run again. Also, I suggest to edit your post and remove your IM tag and email address. You shouldn't post those things in public forums as they just invite spam. · actions · 2004-Nov-3 5:31 pm · jaykaykay4 Ever YoungMVMjoin:2000-04-13USAkudos:24 jaykaykay to atd3321 MVM 2004-Nov-3 7:54 pm to atd3321I have found that on occasion. Sometimes it's a busy server or something...I don't know, but trying again will probably work. If not, please check back here and I am sure someone will respond.

Some have had success when downloading a version of October 4, 2004 or later of this dll: advcheck.dll If that doesn't work then you will have to wait for an update to fix it. Before this it was showing aobot.com or something close to that so the change made me start questioning. Especially when it shows up on one comp but not the other. SacsTC, Nov 16, 2004 #4 Cookiegal Administrator Malware Specialist Coordinator Joined: Aug 27, 2003 Messages: 105,206 You're welcome. Hopefully they'll fix it soon. They do mention that you can't depend on SpyBot's results because of it though. Cookiegal, Nov 16, 2004 #5 Sponsor This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies. I have had fairly good success getting rid of spyware and viruses but for some reason this one wont go away. While attempting to download a program, I inadvertently selected the wrong download window. This is when all hell broke loose. After it was too late I realized I had downloaded Bullseye, along with a bunch of other ****. AVG detected a virus immediately (which has since been removed). 3 days later I'm still fighting it. I ran spybot and adaware. Spybot keeps showing an error message "Error during check! Z Demon", and "DSO exploit" and "eXact advertising.BargainsBuddy". I uninstalled (successfully, I think) "Bullseye" and "Search Relevancy" Here is the HiJackThis logfile: Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.2 Scan saved at 7:34:15 PM, on 12/9/2004 Platform: Windows 2000 SP3 (WinNT 5.00.2195) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINNT\System32\smss.exe C:\WINNT\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINNT\system32\services.exe C:\WINNT\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINNT\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINNT\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG6\avgserv.exe C:\WINNT\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINNT\system32\regsvc.exe C:\WINNT\syste

Posts: 362 " Z-Demon Trojan " In running Spybot S&D Z-Demon keeps coming up even though I don't have the trojan. I ran Norton Anti-Virus twice and it comes up clean. I un-installed ALL my Spybot Search & Destroy files along with the program and then I did a clean install of Spybot Search & Destroy and I ran it again and Z-Demon still came up. Then I did a Google search and looked in my registry keys but didn't find anything. Does anyone know how to get rid of this Z-Demon Trojan? Apparently it just shows up with Spybot Search & Destroy and not AD-Aware or other spyware prevention. I even went into advanced mode clicked on All Products and Products and I put a checkmark by Z-Demon after I scrolled down...didn't work...it still came up on another scan. I have Win XP Home Edition btw. Thanks in advance for the help or suggestions. __________________ rgarr View Public Profile Visit rgarr's homepage!
