Error During Cms Conversion Icc Profile
All-in-one printer that I'm having trouble with. Every time I attempt to scan something with Xsane I get this error message Error during CMS Conversion: Could not open scanner ICM Profile. I've tired other scanning programs, my scanner works fine. But I prefer to use XSane. So hopefully I can get it running properly. Have you tried unchecking Preferences/enable color management on the menu? 2. If that does not work at the terminal type: rm ~/.sane/xsane/*.drc that will kill your configuration. Then restart xsane. The problem is still there? Cheers Melinda (melired15-deactivatedaccount) said on 2009-04-06: #2 I tried unchecking Preferences/enable color management now it seems to be scanning okay. It looks like this solved my problem. Thanks! Bye! eumetaxas (eumetaxas) said on 2010-05-25: #3 "2. Is there no help in sight? It would certainly greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Adv Reply December 28th, 2008

Sorry, but there is no ICM profile for this scanner in the SANE package, only a driver. The documentation for error during the canon_pp backend mentions a 'calibration' file, but that's not an ICC calibration file, it's per-pixel white-point/black-point data which removes streaks from the image. If you're trying to create physically calibrated images with this scanner, then you'll need to find an ICC profile somewhere or make your own. error during cms There may be a profile in the official Canon driver package, but off the top of my head I can't remember. The other option is just to turn off ICC profile calibration in the GUI you're using. If I try to extract it, I am asked for a sub directory. So assuming it will cure the problem, the question is what do I do with it ?Any help most welcome.
