Rendered out using AME using H.264 error during movie codec. Tried both the automatic 'magic dvd' option and manually creating a dvd. It seems to burn then gets to the end and I always get an error popup Encoding video There was an error during movie encoding. Checked here https://discussions.apple.com/thread...72186&tstart=0 Yes, NO errors (yellow triangles) in map view.. Could it have something to do with the specific codec settings used or...so far have wasted a dozen blank dvds... Please help! You've have compressed it there, and then again when iMovie encodes it a second time. My guess is that iDVD doesn't play well with h.264 encodes because it's a computational intensive codec that iDVD cannot reencode again. Just export a self contained movie with the original editing codec and use that. Do not convert to h.264. David S. Daniel is online now I am trying to burn a DVD of an iMovie in iDVD, and an error Customer Question I am trying to burn a DVD of an iMovie in iDVD, and an error message keeps coming up during the first menu organization. I don't know what's wrong or missing, or what to do about it. The burning process begins with PROCESS MENUS. That proceeds until it is completing, about 8 or 9 minutes. Then, it stops, and a message appears saying: "There was an error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows. The burning process has been cancelled." That's all it says. No indications about what's wrong, or what I can do to fix it. I must burn this DVD for class this morning. Please help me ASAP if you can. Submitted: 5 years ago. Hello, my name is Dan.I will do my best to help you, the only stupid question is the unasked one.Okay, there's a couple of things going on here.Did you change the volumes in iDVD or in the editing software for the movie? I mean such as iMovie? While in iDVD there is an item in the menu bar called Project, select Project info and see what it tells you. You will have information on how much information is being burned and how much room you have on your disk. If any of those are out of whack it will cancel. One thing that I find works some of the time is to quit iDVD, after saving the project, and re-opening it.If that fails then I will usually trash the plist. This resets iDVD but it does not do any damage to your projects.Open a finder window in column view, navigate to the preferences and locate the iDVD plist, drag it to the trash and open iDVD.You will need to expand the column to make it easier to find.Double-click those bars and it will expand to show you the entire name.Let me know how you make out.I also recommend making a disk image as opposed to burning discs, it will save you a lot of discs and the process is the same, you can then burn the disk image using Disk Utility found in your utiliti
