I have tried on idvd error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows 3 different Macs, a 24"iMac, a 27"iMac and a 17" MacBookPro. All are running OS10.6.7 idvd encoding error during burning and all versions of software are the same, iMovie 9.0.2 and iDVD 7.1.1.Once my project in iMovie is complete (about 75 minutes) idvd error during movie encoding mp4 I choose Share and select iDVD. From within iDVD I choose a theme and fill in all drop zones with photos from within iPhoto. I can preview my DVD before I burn my disc and in preview idvd multiplexer error mode my movie complete with chapter/scene selections all work as expected. In fact the end result looks really great. However when I try to burn a DVD the process appears to be going along as it should for about 45 minutes or so when the DVD is ejected and the following error message appears-The error message is the same on each Mac - "There was an error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows. The burning

process has been canceled."I have also tried different themes but the result are the same. All suggestion of how to complete a successful burn would be appreciated.Kind RegardsGary iMovie '11, Mac OS X (10.6.7) Posted on May 9, 2011 5:18 AM I have this question too by John Cogdell,Solvedanswer John Cogdell Level 5 (4,624 points) A: Hi Gary,In iDVD there are 3 encoding settings, as follows: Best Performance, High Quality and Professional Quality. These can be selected from iDVD's menu - click on Project>Project Info and the Project Info window will appear. If you have the setting as Best Performance, iDVD will allow only a total duration of one hour (including menus) for a standard single layer DVD. As your project is 75 minutes you will need to encode at either the High or Professional Quality setting.Note that Professional Quality takes about twice as long to encode, as it does a 2 pass operation. Both High and Professional allow a duration of about 2 hours, including menus, for a standard DVD.Tip: Rather than burning direct from iDVD, choose File>Save as Disk Image when ready to burn. Then you can burn as many DVDs as you like using Disk Utility (come back if you need further advice on this).JohnMessage was edited by: John Cogdell - added Tip Posted on May 9, 2011 6
was an error during movie encoding" by jim bachalo on May 20, 2011 at 1:47:02 am Arrrgh! Brand new i7 iMac, latest OSX updates, have been trying to do something incredibly simple...burn a DVD with iDVD! The file is a .mp4 rendered from Adobe Media Encoder. I https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3046752?tstart=0 tried different sizes, different formats, same result. Finally got a tip on the 2nd thread.. https://discussions.apple.com/message/5144580 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1561525?threadID=1561525 It seems you MUST go thru iMovie. The .mp4 was originally exported via Premiere from Adobe Media Encoder. I dragged the .mp4 into a new iMovie https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/71/862209 project and then 'shared' it with iDVD. But why the heck can't iDVD give you a more descriptive error message....? I had the same problem last night. Try this: I recreated all the files using the Quick Time codec (.mov) files. It worked like a charm. I also had problems rendering the Menu files. It was a problem on the DVD theme track muted. Unmute it and voila! Hope it helps you!Return to posts indexReport Post<< PREVIOUS • VIEW ALL • PRINT • NEXT >>© 2016 CreativeCOW.net All Rights Reserved[TOP]

So I figure, why not try encoding them in iDVD and send a physical DVD to her? So I get error during all the video assets placed on the disc, but when I click the burn option or try to make a disc image, I always get to about halfway through the preparation of the disc and it bombs out with an error message saying "There was an error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows. The burning process has been canceled." Now I feel like an idiot, but there are no slideshows on this disc. And the only thing I can think of that I am doing wrong in the menus is error during rendering/encoding that I am putting one of my iMovie-made videos in the drop zone. That aside, I have no idea what I could be doing wrong. I do not even know what information to provide at this juncture. *sigh* It's still a thousand times more flexible than my old IBuM, I must say... "It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..." All of your video content is coming over from iMovie correct? 2. You have video assets on the main menu, and you have your assets for the actual movie, but they contain no pictures? 3. You verified that you have enough Disc space left on the main HD? 20% is the bare minimum that must be free for OS X to use as virtual memory in encoding, so say on an 80GB HD, you need to have 16GB free. 4. You have enough HD space on the drive where the assets are stored to enable the temp file to be built while encoding? If you have say 100GB of assets, you need at least 100GB free space for the temp file to write while it's encoding. You error could point to several things, such as #3 and 4 above, it could point to also assets that weren't ran through iMovie first, and that iDVD is having problems convertin
