I have been trying to create a disk image so I can burn this project at a higher encoding rate. Last night I was able to burn the project to disk using the "One step from imovie" feature. This is not a solution because it doesn't allow me to create a menu with chapters. Any help out there? Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by

So I figure, why not try encoding them in iDVD and send a physical DVD to her? So I get all the video assets placed on the disc, but when I click the http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/295259-iDVD-bombs-out-during-the-middle-of-encoding burn option or try to make a disc image, I always get to about halfway through the preparation of the disc and it bombs out with an error message saying "There was an error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows. The burning process has been canceled." Now I feel like an idiot, but there are no slideshows on this disc. And the only thing I can think of that I am doing wrong in the menus is that I am putting one of my iMovie-made videos in the drop zone. That aside, I have no idea what I could be doing wrong. I do not even know what information to provide at this juncture. *sigh* It's still a thousand times more flexible than my old IBuM, I must say... Rendered out using AME using H.264 codec. Tried both the automatic 'magic dvd' option error during movie and manually creating a dvd. It seems to burn then gets to the end and I always get an error popup Encoding video There was an error during movie encoding. Checked here https://discussions.apple.com/thread...72186&tstart=0 Yes, NO errors (yellow triangles) in map view.. Could it have something to do with the specific codec settings used or...so far have wasted a dozen blank dvds... Please help! You've have compressed it there, and then again when iMovie encodes it a second time. My guess is that iDVD doesn't play well with h.264 encodes because it's a computational intensive codec that iDVD cannot reencode again. Just export a self contained movie with the original editing codec and use that. Do not convert to h.264. David S.
