Troubleshooting- 'Error during rendering/encoding menu" So, I normally want to keep this down to a post per day, but this issue was about to drive me insane. match/birthday party. The first DVD was delivered nearly a month ago. I was contacted this week with the new assignment. I assured them it would be no problem. I always keep one hard drive full https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1657142?start=0&tstart=0 of any projects I've done for at least 2 years. I knew I had the footage, I knew it would be okay. It wasn't.I popped in a DVD fresh out of the pack and, after about 15 minutes of rendering menus and such, it gave me an error message. The message said, "Error during rendering/encoding menus". It then recognized my disc as a blank disk and started me back over in http://btskipworth.blogspot.com/2011/08/wilt-idvd-11-troubleshooting-error.html the burning process from scratch.I felt alone and helpless sorting through tons of posts on the subject, but none really made sense. Only Chris Carraba could make me feel less emo. Then, I found the fix on my own. Several posts described "muting the menu." I knew that my sound was fine when I previewed it, but it took some time to figure out what was up because most of these posts weren't for iDVD '11. I'm hoping to make this a simple fix.Step 1: Go to the menu. It can be any of them, so you might want to check out all of them just to be on the safe side.Step 2: Click the button on the right ( I assume it's for a drop down menu to add content, not sure of the exact name).Step 3: The small photo on the left is titled "menu". There will be a small speaker icon, it's very similar to the one that pops up when you change your volume on your Mac. It should have "waves" coming out of it. If you do not see it, or are unsure, click the icon and you'll see what I'm talking about. It basically toggles the mute function. That should fix it!I honestly have no idea
in 23.97 FPS in 50MB I captured the interviews into FCP edited them, and selected IDVD to burn the http://www.kenstone.net/discussions/read.php?3,29263 edited segment to DVD. Although I used a 16 X 9 http://www.justanswer.com/mac-computers/4cl93-trying-burn-dvd-imovie-idvd-error.html aspect ratio template, it appears to have created the DVD in 4 X 3 aspect ratio. Is it not possible to create a 16 X 9 aspect ratio in IDVD? I've been caught out with this before because it throws up all sorts of errors without letting you know exactly what the problem is. Reply Quote Re: IDVD (November 07, 2010 05:59AM) Stevan Ken, During the process of attempting to burn a DVD via IDVD, I decided to empty the trash to potentially see if that might be a space issue and discovered that there are secured items in the trash (417 items) which will not erase. I tried to erase them. What must I do to erase secured files in the trash? Stev&

I don't know what's wrong or missing, or what to do about it. The burning process begins with PROCESS MENUS. That proceeds until it is completing, about 8 or 9 minutes. Then, it stops, and a message appears saying: "There was an error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows. The burning process has been cancelled." That's all it says. Hello, my name is Dan.I will do my best to help you, the only stupid question is the unasked one.Okay, there's a couple of things going on here.Did you change the volumes in iDVD or in the editing software for the movie? I mean such as iMovie? While in iDVD there is an item in the menu bar called Project, select Project info and see what it tells you. You will have information on how much information is being burned and how much room you have on your disk. If any of those are out of whack it will cancel. One thing that I find works some of the time is to quit iDVD, after saving the project, and re-opening it.If that fails then I will usually trash the plist.
