was an error during movie idvd multiplexer error encoding" by jim bachalo on May 20, 2011 there was an error during muxing preparation (project conversion). at 1:47:02 am Arrrgh! Brand new i7 iMac, latest OSX updates, have been idvd crashes when encoding trying to do something incredibly simple...burn a DVD with iDVD! The file is a .mp4 rendered from Adobe Media Encoder. I https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201404 tried different sizes, different formats, same result. Finally got a tip on the 2nd thread.. https://discussions.apple.com/message/5144580 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1561525?threadID=1561525 It seems you MUST go thru iMovie. The .mp4 was originally exported via Premiere from Adobe Media Encoder. I dragged the .mp4 into a new iMovie https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/71/862209 project and then 'shared' it with iDVD. But why the heck can't iDVD give you a more descriptive error message....? I had the same problem last night. Try this: I recreated all the files using the Quick Time codec (.mov) files. It worked like a charm. I also had problems rendering the Menu files. It was a problem on the DVD theme track muted. Unmute it and voila! Hope it helps you!Return to posts indexReport Post<< PREVIOUS • VIEW ALL • PRINT • NEXT >>© 2016 CreativeCOW.net All Rights Reserved[TOP]

I am using iDVD 7.1.2 and have 95 GB of free space on the boot drive. The movies were idvd encoding error created with iMovie 9.0.4. The error occurs in the last five minutes of BURN. I've done the following: - Moved all buttons into the TV Safe area - Reduced burn speed to 2x - Clicked "Do not Create Chapter Submenus" in iDVD - Deleted all encoded assets after doing all of the above The iDVD Encoding is set to Porfessional Quality. The DVD should take 4.16 GB and be 124 mins long. I am trying to save this to a Disc Image to eliminate any possible issues with media. The movies are coming off my Gsafe External HD attached via Firewire. I am not using Chapters in iMovie. I have tried creating the DVD using two different Macs with the same result. On each I have created a new project each time. I have also toyed with removing a few movies and that didn't change the ultimate result. TIA for any suggestions. So I figure, why not try encoding them in iDVD and send a physical DVD to her? So I get all the video assets placed on the disc, but when I click the burn option or try to make a disc image, I always get to about halfway through the preparation of the disc and it bombs out with an error message saying "There was an error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows. The burning process has been canceled." Now I feel like an idiot, but there are no slideshows on this disc. And the only thing I can think of that I am doing wrong in the menus is that I am putting one of my iMovie-made videos in the drop zone. That aside, I have no idea what I could be doing wrong. I do not even know what information to provide at this juncture. *sigh* It's still a thousand times more flexible than my old IBuM, I must say...
