Create a Network Or are you trying to run WordPress error establishing a database connection wordpress aws from its own directory? ardellan @ardellan 2 months ago Thanks so much for responding. I have just sorted out the problem. Running WordPress in its own directory. So in case anyone else has the same issue, my mistake was in changing the path in wpXX_options on siteurl and home. In options using phpmyadmin I needed the /wp/ in the path for the siteurl and not in the path for home. Working fine now. Thanks again. When logged into the site under the main domain that you said works normally - do you go to network admin --> sites --> add new site? or are you adding them through a Cpanel?
