I get the following in the log file:# cat build-err.log error: Failed build dependencies: kernel-devel-i686 = 2.6.18-8.el5 is needed by minix-kmod-1.45-1.i686 kernel-xen-devel-i686 = 2.6.18-8.el5 is needed by minix-kmod-1.45-1.i686 kernel-PAE-devel-i686 = 2.6.18-8.el5 is needed by minix-kmod-1.45-1.i686These packages are installed:kernel-devel-2.6.18-238.12.1.el5kernel-xen-2.6.18-238.12.1.el5kernel-PAE-2.6.18-238.12.1.el5My kernel version is:# uname -r2.6.18-238.12.1.el5xenBack in the "I Need the Kernel Source" tutorial, I did get the source for my kernel:$ rpm -i http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/updat ... l5.src.rpm 2>&1 | grep -v mockbSo what am I doing wrong?ThanksMatt. To build the module against this kernel, you would need to install the packages given in the error log.The easiest "fix" is to build your module against the version of your running kernel by defining 'kversion' like so:rpmbuild -bb --target=`uname -m` --define 'kversion 2.6.18-238.12.1.el5' cifs-kmod.spec 2> build-err.log | tee build-out.log Top yves Posts: 23 Joined: 2009/02/20 08:21:17 Location: ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha R

Compiling Xen3.2 dom0 Started by Julien FLAMAND , 03 April 2007 - error failed build 08:32 AM Login to Reply 10 replies to this topic Julien FLAMAND Members #1 Julien FLAMAND 16 posts Posted 03 April 2007 - 08:32 AM Hi,Sorry for my very bad english, I am trying to compile Xen3.2 (dom0) using sources for a DRBD issue but the /xen directory in XenServer-3.2.0-src1.iso contains a rpm file and not xs-xen-4991b3f7314e.tar.bz2 and xs-xen-patches-2b5822c59e8f.tar.bz2 like xen3.1. So methods explained in knowledge database can't be used, How can I do this ?
