Try using the following command keytool -import -alias {myalias} -file {mycertificate} (I haven't been able to test this since I don't have a proper certificate) Run keytool -list to see your new certificate Next you must export the certificate so you can import it to your phone Run keytool -export -alias {myalias} -file mycertificate.crt Import the certificate into your phone (see below for details) Create and import a new (test) certificate You need to use keytool (from the JDK) I used the following command keytool -genkey -alias {myalias} -keyalg RSA -validity 365 This will prompt you for a keystore password, enter your keystore password (if you have an existing keystore) or the one you want to use if you don't have one yet

Re: Getting error trying to install Midlet Andrey.P-Oracle Apr 13, 2013 9:48 AM (in response to Andy Tael-Oracle) Please check that you have the jwc_properties.ini file in your binary directory (~/java_me_3.3/bin) and please verify that you are running under the user which has proper permissions to write into this file. E.g. typical problem that if you once ran JMEE under super-user it will change the owner of the file to root. So in order to run JMEE again under normal user it's needed to either change the owner back or to chmod to something like 777. The same problem also relevant to AMS (application management part of JMEE) data base, residing in appdb (~/java_me_3.3/appdb) folder. So please watch out when running under different users. Please reply if you got manage to resolve the problem Edited by: andrey_p on Apr 13, 2013 2:48 AM Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. This Site Careers Other all forums Forum: Java Micro Edition "Failed to Install the MIDlet" Barry Burd Author Ranch Hand Posts: 118 5 I like... posted 6 years ago I'm learning JavaME and working with NetBeans 6.8, JavaME SDK 3.0 (and Java 7 ea) to create the example Hello midlet. I'm chosing CLDC 1.0 and MIDP 2.0. The midlet runs on the emulator, but when I visit the .jad file with my Cingular 3125 phone (Windows Mobile 5) the phone downloads the midlet and then says "Failed to Install the MIDlet." There are lots of things I can try but is there any way to drill down and diagnose the problem? The message "Failed to Install the MIDlet" just isn't enough info to know what to try next.
