So, I think that you look at the log and why some details are known came out the error. mbdas commented Jul 5, 2015 (00.001638) Error (mount.c:630): 81:./dev/console doesn't h ave a proper root mount (00.001644) Unlock network (00.001648) Running network-unlock scripts (00.001654) RPC (00.001703) Unfreezing tasks into 1 (00.001705) Unseizing 11993 into 1 (00.001705) Error (cr-dump.c:1947): Dumping FAILED. avagin commented Jul 6, 2015 External terminals are not supported yet. It's not hard to implement if you need them. http://www.criu.org/Inheriting_FDs_on_restore mbdas commented Jul 6, 2015 The example I tried was with the docker busybox based rootfs and runc launching the sh in it with the spec config.json. Since this is the example mentioned in this project it would be good to make it work across other commands. From initial research looks like docker's creation of console may be buggy and shares mapping with host. But I tried using the rootfs from Jerome's link in test docker file where console looks like is setup differently but fails with same. So good to have a working sample in project for criu in runc. avagin commented Jul 8, 2015 https://gist.github.com/avagin/5cb08eab7d66868ea73a runc checkpoint/restore work fine with this config file. root@ubuntu:/home/avagin/git/go/src/github.com/opencontainers/runc# ./runc --criu /home/avagin/git/criu/criu checkpoint root@ubuntu:/home/avagin/git/go/src/github.com/opencontainers/runc# echo $? 0 root@ubuntu:/home/avagin/git/go/src/github.com/ope

Also affects distribution/package Nominate for series Bug Description Hi, I opened an issue on github( https://github.com/lxc/lxd/issues/2110 ) about a failure during live migration of lxd container, this is the error failed main error after executing the move command: lxc move lnmp LXC2:migrated error: Error transferring container data: checkpoint failed: (00.014228) Error (sockets.c:129): Diag module missing (-2) (00.015240) Error (sockets.c:129): Diag module missing (-2) (00.016208) Error (sockets.c:129): Diag module missing (-2) (00.098007) Error (cr-dump.c:1600): Dumping FAILED. I followed error failed to this guide ( http://insights.ubuntu.com/2016/04/25/lxd-2-0-live-migration-912/ ) and i also get the same error with stateful snapshots. lxc snapshot lnmp snap1 --stateful error: checkpoint failed So i'm assuming lxc move uses stateful snapshots and here where it fails the migration? That's the error i find on lxc.log: lxc 20160612130550.161 INFO lxc_criu - criu.c:exec_criu:387 - execing: /usr/sbin/criu dump --tcp-established --file-locks --link-remap --manage-cgroups --ext-mount-map auto --enable-external-sharing --enable-external-masters --enable-fs hugetlbfs --enable-fs tracefs -D /tmp/lxd_checkpoint_927931833 -o /tmp/lxd_checkpoint_927931833/dump.log -vvvvvv -t 22687 --freeze-cgroup /sys/fs/cgroup/freezer///lxc/lnmp --ext-mount-map /dev/console:console --external tty[8801:e] --force-irmap lxc 20160612130550.161 DEBUG lxc_commands - commands.c:lxc_cmd_handler:893 - peer has disconnected lxc 20160612130550.223 ERROR lxc_criu - criu.c:do_dump:866 - dump failed with 1 And on migration log: (00.048642) Collecting netns 9/22687 (00.048644) Switching to 22687's net for collecting sockets (00.049685) Warn (libnetlink.c:65): ERROR -2 reported by netlink (00.049973) Collected: ino 0x 209db5 family 2 type 1 po
