I have RRAS and DHCP on a Win2K3 DC machine. RRAS is configured to use DHCP addresses, but every time I start it it reports EVENTID 20169 UNable to contact a DHCP server. The DHCP https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc733657(v=ws.10).aspx server is authorised. The server address is 172.21.1.5/16 and the DHCP is configured to lease addresses in the 172.21.11.x/16 range - same subnet. netstat shows UDP listeners are functioning on the DHCP ports: UDP:67/68 Can anyone point me in the direction of my problem? That's what causes the problem. You can't disable it wtihout hurting RRAS/VPN. Same with WINS proxy, and that should be dis

Also to do a little deeper troubleshooting you can open a command prompt on your server and run netstat -ano to see any ports it might be listening on. Lets say it is listening on port 3389 for remote desktop protocol. Then you go to a workstation and from a command prompt run "telnet
