Sweet! 2016-02-22 09:37 Posted by Tajin Looks like you're using attachTo and have the rope connected to a dummy object. That is ok for carrying the rope around but ultimately the rope should be connect directly to the object you want to carry, otherwise it's weight won't affect the chopper properly. 2016-06-08 12:16 Posted by koriaba interesting addon, thank you! 2016-06-28 06:07 Posted by jtgibson This mod takes the viability and usefulness of the vanilla sling loading system and fixes the lack of realism inherent in the original design. There isn't much to say about it because it's simple and effective: everything it does, it says right on the tin -- and does it extremely well! About the only issue I've been able to identify is that if you take direct control of a UAV like a Darter (placing it with a Playable/Player "AI" pilot) rather than remotely controlling it via a UAV terminal, it can also deploy ropes! Since this almost never comes up during normal gameplay -- only occurring in lazy use of the Editor -- it might not even be worth a fix. Very very stable. I did feel a little discomfited (i.e., "defeated", not "perplexed" as many people misuse the word ;-)) by the fact that it's more or less multiplayer only, since landing, jumping out, and doing the work yourself takes a craptonne of time (that's a metric crapton, hence the "ne"). A future improvement might be to have friendly AI in Safe state capable of hooking things up for single-player use, either with a user action ("Request Attach") or just automation (if helicopter has deployed ropes, take rope and tie to nearest attachable object). 2016-07-03 22:20 Posted by therunnaway115 Just a suggestion from a simple player, I think it would be really cool if you could implement this into lifting destroyed aircraft. for instance, if a plane goes down and you need to retrieve it for realism missions. Just a suggestion. 2016-08-17 15:44 Posted by macieksoft Ability to lift tanks with helicopters is unrealistic. Even Mi-26 cannot handle that much.
