I had to get a new monitor cable (got a Dynex SGVA cable), and now get the "Event ID 43033 - ati2mtag Edid checksum error" message upon boot up. Did I get the wrong kind of cable (an SVGA versus a regular VGA one for instance?) or something? We were tying to use firmware for ATI 2400 Pro and it should have been ATI 2400 XT. x 5 Private comment: Subscribers only. Connected, I have an extended display setting which runs without any issue. I have tried Googling for a solution to remove the error message without success. My machine has an Intel GMA X3100 graphics chip. Has anyone come across this problem and found a way to remove the error message? It is also possible that xrandr can help you: http://wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/HowToRandR12Hope you can find a fix Sweaty lads picking up the soap | I love the new "Ignore user" button Offline #3 2011-10-05 22:23:59 bootstrap Member Registered: 2011-10-04 Posts: 29 Website Re: [SOLVED] *ERROR* EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 130 @machinebacon: Thank you. You're right - I don't have an xorg.conf file (not one I can find anyway). I tried a custom xorg.conf two days ago but that created more problems... but I might try again. If I find a solution, I'll post it here. Offline #4 2011-10-05 23:24:31 Neil #! CrunchBanger From: Paragould AR USA Registered: 2010-05-01 Post

It is rev. A02, firmware:V1B11. On VGA everything works perfectly. However when I switch to DVI mode there is nothing displayed both during BOOT and in windows - monitor continously reports "entering power save". Graphics card is Sapphire X800GTO - i've never got problems with DVI before. Doing some reserach on other machine (ATI 9000) i've manged to see display during BOOT and windows but only in VGA mode. Using then PowerStrip to check monitor it reports "No DCC info avaliable" when reading EDID directly from monitor. Also windows cannot recognize monitor as a plug&play device on DVI and showing nothing under device manager. Anybody have idea what's going wrong? Help appreciated. Run MonInfo on it and then post the content of the moninfo.INI file that is automatically created in your MonInfo folder.
