Error Id 5079 Sql Server
trying to install SQL enterprise 2000 on windows 64bit .net 2003 2node server cluster. Installing from node 1, the installation hangs on node 1, while it appears to be a complete install on node 2. Can start SQL service on node 2, but stops right after. Node 1 cannot be restarted or shutdown using the operating system. After a manual hardware reset on node 1, opening the cluster administrator I get this message: An error occured attempting to read properties for the 'Microsoft Search Service Instance' resource type. The specified node does not support a resource of this type. This may be due to version inconsistencies or due to the absence of the resource DLL on this node. Error ID: 5079 (000013d7), Do you want to ignore this error and continue? gathercl.dll is right were it is supposed to be. Version 9.107.5512.0 I need to have SQL server runing on that cluster. No matter how. I'm already 6 weeks behind on the project. Any ideas? Top Error ID: 5079 (000013d7), ms search service on windows 64bit .net enterprise by John Kan » Wed, 29 Jan 2003 00:35:49 Olaf, First of all, you are installing the 64bit version of SQL Server 2000 (codename Liberty) on your Windows 64bit .net 2003 2node server cluster. Correct? If not, then you should obtain this version and re-install. The "error occurred attempting to read properties for the 'Microsoft Search Service Instance' resource type" relates to the MSSearch search engine. Are you planning to use FTS on this cluster? As for "This may be due to version inconsistencies or due to the absence of the resource DLL on this node. Error ID: 5079 (000013d7)", how do you know that this links to gathercl.dll and it's version? Note, you can also post FTS questions to the newsgroup: microsoft.public.sqlserver.fulltext. More > Clustering Problem I was trying to install SQL Server 2008 R2 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Failover Cluster, but the setup did not complete successfully. Upon further investigation, the issue https://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2592/fix-sql-server-agent-on-windows-failover-cluster/ seems to be caused by a DNS entry that was then fixed by the systems administrator. While the SQL Server cluster resource group was successfully brought online after the DNS issue was fixed, I noticed that http://exceptionin.com/q/microsoft-windows-server-2003-cluster the SQL Server Agent was not listed as a resource type under the Other Resources section of the cluster resource group. How do I manually add the SQL Server Agent to the cluster resource group? Solution error id Not seeing the SQL Server Agent on the Other Resources section of the SQL Server cluster resource group means that it has not been created successfully. This is usually caused by an incomplete or corrupt installation when you perform a single-node cluster installation of SQL Server. In this particular case, the single-node cluster installation failed because the virtual server name could not be registered to the DNS. You can verify this error id 5079 by trying to add a new resource in the clustered resource group. In the screenshot below, you do not see the SQL Server Agent in the list of available resources - only the SQL Server resource is available. While searching for a Microsoft KB article that would provide a resolution for this issue, I saw a problem similar to mine that was posted on the MSDN Forums. We can manually add the SQL Server Agent as a clustered resource type. But before we do this, we need to make sure that the SQAGTRES.DLL file has already been copied to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder. This DLL file gets copied as part of the failover cluster installation together with the main DLL used by the SQL Server database engine - SQSRVRES.DLL. While the functions of these two Resource DLLs are beyond the scope of this tip, you can learn more from this SQL-Server-Performance.com article. To fix the SQL Server Agent resource on the clustered resource group, you need to perform the following steps below: NOTE: These steps can be performed either via the Failover Cluster Manager, cluster.exe or Windows PowerShell. Since we all have different preferences, you decide which method to use. I am including all three options where applicable. When choosing to use Windows PowerS
