Monitor an unlimited number of servers with $49/year With the current low prices for servers and the need for processing power, even a small company may end up with quite a few of them. If ten years ago it was still common to see an entire company using just one server, these days that's no longer the case. New computers are added to the network with the understanding that they will be taken care of by the admins. Keeping an eye on these servers is a tedious, time-consuming process. Even with 5 minutes per server (to check the logs and other parameters), it may take an hour to make sure that everything is ok and no "red lights" are blinking http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Exchange&ProdVer=6.5.6940.0&EvtID=8231&EvtSrc=MSExchangeAL&LCID=1033 on any of the servers. read more... Comments: Thomas Bader Please see Event ID 8247 from MSExchangeAL. x 28 Aidan This occurred after a PDC had http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-8231-source-MSExchangeAL-eventno-2553-phase-1.htm died and was rebuilt, not restored. When it was dcpromoed, it was never re-enabled as a Global Catalogue Server. This meant there was no GC present in the domain (2 DCs). After I enabled one of the servers as a GC, the services started. x 30 Anonymous - Error code: 8007203a - This occurred on a newly added Exchange server after decommissioning an old one in the same organization. Before that, the Recipient Update Service that was running on the old server was moved to the new one. The events started to appear right after moving RUS. In our case, the problem was that DNS resolution was not configured to add local domain names when looking for hosts. x 31 Eamon In my case, the problem was related to a third party Fax application, FACSys. Following KB article ME286356 and also removing the entries for FACSys from the "Address Types" container solved the problem. x 31 EventID.Net - Error code: 8000ffff - As per Microsoft: "This issue may occur if a member computer on the local domain has the same name as a computer on the remote domain. That is, the Computers section in Active Directory Users and Computers on the local domain has a computer with the same name as a computer in the Domain Controllers section of Active Directory Users and Computers on the remote domain. Error=8007203a Posted on 2009-03-02 MS Server Apps 1 Verified Solution 1 Comment 1,122 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-06 I had a top level domain controller and a backup. Let's call error id the top domain TOPDomain and the domain controllers toplevel and toplevel2. I have two domains under that and will call them Domain1 and Domain2. Domain1 has the Exchange 2003 server for all domains. Toplevel had to be removed. I did everything according to the book remove Toplevel . . . made toplevel2 the global catalog server, etc. Everything works great. Toplevel is now gone. However, now I find that error id 8231 I have Event ID:8231 with an error=8007203a. The RUS is pointed to toplevel (which is gone). When I try to add an RUS, it receive the following message: "Before creating a recipient update service, a member of the Domain Admins security group in the chosen domain must run Exchange Server setup with the /domainprep command." I have run this on the Exchange 2003 server which is in Domain1. But, it still will not let me add the new one and there is no way to remove the old one. 0 Question by:Pulakos Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 17 Active 5 days ago Best Solution bySuraj Check the properties of the RUS in the Exchange 2003 and point it to the existing domain controller.
