Please check earlier event log messages for the specific error. - Default OAB This is a fresh install of Exchange 2007; there was never any older version of Exchange The clients are not reporting any problems downloading the OAB; however, what error id 9331 they download is not up to date All three mailbox servers are reported to have a replica of the default oab This worked for three years until about a month ago. The CAS designated as the distribution point has an lzx file up to April 24. The generating MB server is part of a CCR; the correct node is listed under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeSA\Parameters\ClusterName\EnableOabGenOnThisNode The generating MB server is creating new lzx files every time I force an update There are no other errors in the event logs and the only warnings relate to problems with individual entries (bad SMTP address, invalid cert, etc) The one thing I am not sure about is that there are two old lzx files on the generating MB server: they date to 4/24/2011 and then the files jump in date to the most recent. I have checked the items discussed as possible causes of this event in the forums, blogs, and docs I can find.TBrennan May 23rd, 2011 9:24pm He

Possible Causes and Remedies: Unfortunately this error seems to be very much a catch all error. From searching the internet there do seem to be a number of possible causes. I have only recorded what worked for me: There are errors in the Default Global Address List. My Exchange server was a replacement for an Exchange 2003 server, and it seems that in the upgrade process problems were introduced into the Default address List. This could be confirmed by running the cmdlet: Update-GlobalAddressList [PS] C:\Windows\system32>Update-GlobalAddressList -Identity "Default Global Address List"WARNING: The recipient "mydomain.com/Microsoft Exchange System Objects/xxxxx" isinvalid and couldn't be updated.WARNING: The recipient "mydomain.com/Microsoft Exchange System Objects/OAB Version 2" is invalid and couldn'tbe updated.WARNING: The recipient "mydomain.com/Microsoft Exchange System Objects/OAB Version 3a" is invalid andcouldn't be updated.WARNING: The recipient "mydomain.com/Microsoft Exchange System Objects/Offline Address Book -\/o=DOMAIN\/cn=addrlists\/cn=oabs\/cn=Default" is invalid and couldn't be updated.WARN
