Monitor an unlimited number of servers with $49/year With the current low prices for servers and the need for processing power, even a small company may end up with quite a few of them. If ten years ago it was still common to see an entire company using just one server, these days that's no longer the case. New computers are added to the network with the understanding that they will be taken care of by the admins. Keeping an eye on these servers is a tedious, time-consuming process. Even with 5 minutes per server (to check the logs and other parameters), it may take an hour to make sure that everything is ok and no "red lights" are blinking on any of the servers. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Exchange&ProdVer=8.0&EvtID=9385&EvtSrc=MSExchangeSA read more... I am running Exchange 2010 SP1 Update Rollup 3 on Windows 2008 R2. On one of the mailbox servers, I am getting a lot of Event ID 9385 error id 9385 with the message below. Log Name: Application Source: MSExchangeSA Date: 6/16/2011 1:30:57 PM Event ID: 9385 Task Category: General Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Exchange01.domain.com Description: Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to read the membership of the universal security group '/dc=com/dc=domain/ou=Microsoft Exchange Security Groups/cn=Exchange Servers'; the error code was '8007203a'. The problem might be that the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant does not have permission to read the membership of the group. If this computer is not a member of the group '/dc=com/dc=domain/ou=Microsoft Exchange Security Groups/cn=Exchange Servers', you should manually stop all Microsoft Exchange services, run the task 'add-ExchangeServerGroupMember,' and then restart all Microsoft Exchange services. I have more GC's so I'massuming this is a refresh issue with Exchange. Meaning it still wants to use the server that is no longer a GC. Can someone confirm that restarting the SA will fix this? I was not seeing this before the GC removal.
