Permalink Hey allFirst off, http://ecuhacking.activeboard.com/t26316797/two-laptops-three-operating-systemsstill-no-flash/ great site. Always find what I am looking for! EXCEPT this time..I have converted my 2000 harness to 02-07 pinout. All is working and I drove the car last night with zero issues.I possess a flash interface of Gregs http://vlab.su/viewtopic.php?f=181&t=2427&start=40 (BoostbySmith), all is connected correctly and reverified three times (everthing Ohmed out corectly as well). I have FDT and ecuEditor setup correctly per Gregs instructions. I can moitor All engine data. When I proceed to flash the ECU, (with error no the switch in the flash position ) I cannot get past>Attempting 9600Attempting 4800Attempting 2400Attempting 1200Error No 15024: Boot failedCycle the key, and it still will do the same thing.I have tried every comm port setting on 2 different laptops. one being a dual boot system (XP pro, Vista Home P), the other an old XP machine. Exact same results. I'm starting to wonder if this is an ECU issue now! I'm stuck as well as Greg. Greg error no 15024 has benched flashed with this box so we know for sure that it is not a problem. I figured I better get to posting to see if this issue can be resolvedAny thoughts? __________________ RidgeRacer Guru Status: Offline Posts: 962 Date: Mar 21, 2009 Permalink That FDT error indicates that it found a usable COM port but did not get any reply from the ECU.Possible problems1) You have the wrong COM# selected. Just because it works for monitoring doesn't mean you have the correct port set up in FDT. In FDT press Alt+Shift+R and look under the communications settings tab to make sure your using the correct COM port2) Your ECU is not in Boot Mode: Pin 14 MD1 needs to be grounded, 32 FWE needs to be +5V, 34 Reset needs to be not connected. I'm not really familiar with Greg's setup but that is what is needed to go into boot mode. The only other possible thing is that since you rewired the harness you have inadvertently messed something up. __________________ Enemy Member Status: Offline Posts: 6 Date: Mar 21, 2009 Permalink Thanks for info RRThinking more a wiring issue, I pulled the ECU and built a bench flash harness. I got past the "Boot Failed" error. Progress right! But, now it acts as if it is going to complete a flash and then>Selection of Clock Mode - Clock selected
