When we attempt to print a jpg or psd file we get the following error: error: No %%BoundingBox: comment in header! Am in a computer lab setting using intel iMac, OS 10.5.4, CS3 Photoshop along with an HP5200tn NETWORKED laser printer. All updates have been loaded as they became available so all is up to date.No printing problems other than in Photoshop. Called Adobe and they say it is not their problem/fault. Called HP and they blamed adobe. Meantime, I DID get prints by clicking on the old "open using rosetta" in Photoshop but wonder what new problem THAT solution will cause. Plus, I resent having to use rosetta with nice new macs with up-to-date software and drivers. We do not have any gimp drivers installed nor any sketchy software.Can anyone offer any viable suggestion. Thank you in advance. iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.4) Posted on Sep 11, 2008 11:58 AM I have this question too Close Q: error: No %%BoundingBox: comment in header! We were unable to find a solution other than replacing the printer as the error did not prevent printing on a more current model. I'm on 10.5.6, Photoshop CS3 and HP Laserjet 4050. My printer just stopped working overnight with this problem, but as i said, the work around did it. Here's what I found.From within Photoshop CS 3, choose to print your document. That Preliminary print screen comes up, choose whatever settings you desire there, then click PRINT.What should follow is the OS X print window, and it's there that you'll see the PREVIEW button. Eran Levi Have you ever got the following Apple Mac error while trying to print something: "No %%BoundingBox: comment in header!" People at Apple https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1704903?tstart=0 got "lots" of answers on how to solve it (basically all answers directing you to re install the printer or update the printer driver): https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1704903?start=0&tstart=0 My solution was easier. In order to solve this http://premtek.com.au/blog/2011/08/no-boundingbox-comment-in-header-error/ issue and print the document I just needed to rename the file name! The PDF file my client wanted to print had a really really long name. Once I have changed its file name to a shorter naming convention we were able to print the document. Problem solved. The printer is defined on a unix system. This is the code I use : Code:
JasperReport report = JasperCompileManager.compileReport(is);
JasperPrint jPrint = JasperFillManager.fillReport(report, params, ds);
JRPrintServiceExporter exporter = new JRPrintServiceExporter();
exporter.setParameter( JRPrintServiceExporterParameter.JASPER_PRINT, jPrint);
PrintRequestAttributeSet aset = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet();
exporter.setParameter( JRPrintServiceExporterParameter.PRINT_REQUEST_ATTRIBUTE_SET, aset);
PrintServiceAttributeSet serviceAttributeSet = new HashPrintServiceAttributeSet();
serviceAttributeSet.add(new PrinterName(serviceName, null));
exporter.setParameter( JRPrintServiceExporterParameter.PRINT_SERVICE_ATTRIBUTE_SET, serviceAttributeSet);
exporter.exportReport();
This works fine when my application is deployed on windows. However the report is not printed on unix.
The printer is not able to print pdf file directly, but it can print postscript.
I'm guessing the exporter is sending the report to the error no boundingbox printer in pdf format (or in a format that is not compatible with the printer).
I tried to print some text (in a String) with java print service methods and it works fine.
So is there just something I must change in exporter parameters ?
Or should export the report to a pdf file, then convert it to a postscript file and send this file to the printer?
Can someone help me ? (I suppose I'm not the only one trying to print jasper reports under unix...)
Thank you,

Maybe the printer service lookup fails when you run on the Linux machine.
