When we attempt to print a jpg or psd file we get the following error: error: No %%BoundingBox: comment in header! Am in a computer lab setting using intel iMac, OS 10.5.4, CS3 Photoshop along with an HP5200tn NETWORKED laser printer. All updates have been loaded as they became available so all is up to date.No printing problems other than in Photoshop. Called Adobe and they say it is not their problem/fault. Called HP and they blamed adobe. Meantime, I DID get prints by clicking on the old "open using rosetta" in Photoshop but wonder what new problem THAT solution will cause. Plus, I resent having to use rosetta with nice new macs with up-to-date software and drivers. We do not have any gimp drivers installed nor any sketchy software. Can anyone offer any viable suggestion. Thank you in advance. iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.4) Posted on Sep 11, 2008 11:58 AM I have this question too Close Q: error: No %%BoundingBox: comment in header! We were unable to find a solution other than replacing the printer as the error did not prevent printing on a more current model. I'm on 10.5.6, Photoshop CS3 and HP Laserjet 4050. My printer just stopped working overnight with this problem, but as i said, the work around did it. Eran Levi Have you ever got the following Apple Mac error while trying to print something: "No %%BoundingBox: comment in header!" People at Apple https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1704903?tstart=0 got "lots" of answers on how to solve it (basically all answers directing you to re install the printer or update the printer driver): https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1704903?start=0&tstart=0 My solution was easier. In order to solve this http://premtek.com.au/blog/2011/08/no-boundingbox-comment-in-header-error/ issue and print the document I just needed to rename the file name! The PDF file my client wanted to print had a really really long name. Once I have changed its file name to a shorter naming convention we were able to print the document. Problem solved. What is the filename extension of your error no boundingbox graphics file? Is it .eps, or something else? Please advise. –Mico Sep 17 '13 at 19:20 2 does you figure have a bounding box (a line like %%BoundingBox: 1 2 3 4) It should have if it is a valid EPS file. –David Carlisle Sep 17 '13 at 19:24 As @David Carlisle is saying; try opening your figure.eps in a text_editor and search for the word: BoundingBox. If it is not there, then something is wrong. What is the source of your figure? –Hans-Peter E. Kristiansen Sep 17 '13 at 19:29 in some .eps files, the bounding box information is at the end, rather than at the beginning where it really belongs. (and latex won't find it at the end.) with more specific information, someone here can give instructions on how to repair it. –barbara beeton Sep 17 '13 at 20:11 1 @DavidCarlisle -- we've had problems here in production with the bounding box at the end; maybe it's dvips that can't find it properly, but in any case, we always have to make repairs. so i made an assumption ... –barbara beeton Sep 17 '13 at 21:14 | show 2 more comments 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 8 down vote Although the question has been answered by @DavidCarlisle in the comment, I'll try to complete the answer here.
