Error No Rom File Path Given
I converted from OS X five days ago. Everything up until now has gone smoothly, and I've been able to solve any problems I've had by mupen64plus gui googling. I tried installing Mupen64Plus via the software center, but it said project64 it required installation of untrusted packages and would not let me continue. (Error text: Requires installation of untrusted packages.T he action would require the installation of packages from not authenticated sources. Details: libsdl-ttf2.0-0 libxdg-basedir1 mupen64plus). I went to their Google code site, downloaded the most recent binary for Linux (1.99.4), extracted it to my home folder (I think), and tried to run the install script in terminal. Result: sabrina@Sabrina-Latitude-D510:~$ sudo ./install.sh Installing Mupen64Plus Binary Bundle to /usr/local install: cannot stat `libmupen64plus.so.2.*': No such file or directory I'm not sure if I did any part of the installation process correctly, except for downloading the file (I think). I read all of the threads related to this, but I couldn't find anything that helped. What would be extremely helpful would be a complete-beginner no-prior-knowledge-assumed step-by-step walkthrough of the install process, because I don't really know what I'm doing. I understand what sudo means, and what a shell script is, so I do know what I'm typing into terminal, but not if it's correct. Thanks in advance! thatguruguyNovember 28th, 2010, 03:54 AMTry installing from synaptic instead of the software center. DangerOnTheRangerNovember 28th, 2010, 04:00 AMYeah, Synaptic still lets you choose to install packages even if they come from untrusted sources. Synaptic is under System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager. SiramauNovember 28th, 2010, 04:17 AMOkay, thanks. That works, although it's an old version. Is installing from the binary difficult (I would rather install the newest version if that's an option), or was I just messing something up? ThatBumNovember 28th, 2010, 07:24 AMHello. I just ran the install script for mupen64plus, and it ran fine. This was my output: justyn@NetbookOfAwesomeness:~/Downloads/mupen64plus-bundle-linux32-1.99.4$ sudo ./install.sh [sudo] password for justyn: Installing Mupen64Plus Binary Bundle to /usr/local install: creating directory `/usr/local/share/mupen64plus' install: creating directory `/usr

Since unzipping my roms, I have had better stability, but the crashes remain, anywhere between 5mins and 3 hours. The emulation will stop and one of my 2 cpu https://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1632366.html cores gets locked up at 100% usage. Running from terminal only shows some messages about ALSA underruns which happen throughout emulation. Nothing shows up when the crash actually occurs. I use the glide plugin as rice does not display things correctly. Using a Debian squeeze system, 256.44 nvidia drivers, version 1.5 of mupen from the squeeze repos. My machine is above minimum spec for this: Athlon II 245, 4GB RAM, 9600GT Tried posting on Ubuntu formus, and a user referred http://www.emutalk.net/threads/51621-Crashes-at-random-times me to here. Any insight is welcome. Many bugs have been fixed since that release. You can download binary and source build of the latest release (1.99.3) on our Google Code site (http://code.google.com/p/mupen64plus). If you don't mind building from source, it's best to get the latest code from our Mercurial repository and build it. I'm using 64bit. Or running it from a different directory than the one in which it's located? Owner scottrice commented Nov 22, 2013 That is really odd. Would you mind posting your log.txt? geraldhumphries commented Dec 11, 2013 That looks like a config issue. Maybe you accidentally removed or changed the text "ROMs Directory=" in config.txt? Alpha17x commented Dec 16, 2013 Can anyone explain how to properly edit the config? I'm trying to get this going under Steam OS. I have error no rom not had to even touch the config.txt file before thankfully but steam OS moved the install of steam to /home/steam/.local/share/Steam On a 'normal' install of linux, it's located at /home/.local/share/Steam. I had thought I could edit the config.txt file with; [Storage]# /home/steam/.local/share/Steam or [Storage]# ~/steam/.local/share/Steam Another possible interpretation is putting it after '=>' These do not work. I've come up with parsing errors, the 'Roms directory' error. however I deleted everything other than the [Storage]# part since the rest seemed like it was example text. The formatting of the config.txt file makes id almost impossible to tell where to edit something and what to edit, because there's no formatting. It's just one long line. It seems so far like absolutely any edit to this file at all causes a 'Roms Directory' Error Owner scottrice commented Dec 16, 2013 @Alpha17x You mention that config.txt is showing up all in one line for you. That is definitely not intended. What program are you using to edit config.txt? Alpha17x commented Dec 16, 2013 Hello. Im' using notepad in windows. I am attempting to edit the file in windows and then after i've done so I'm copying it to the SteamOS system to test on linux. (SteamOS doesn't have a text editor) Owner scottrice commented Dec 16,
