Eprint
I got:Code: [Select][ 3920.921942] usb 3-2.4: new full-speed USB device number 7 using xhci_hcd
[ 3920.955145] usb 3-2.4: ep 0x82 - rounding interval to
Eprint Malaysia
1024 microframes, ep desc says 2040 microframes
[ 3920.956483] cdc_acm 3-2.4:1.0: ttyACM3: USB ACM device
So I start the arduino IDE, take an example and try to upload it. Sometimes the serial port ttyACM3 is not there, and even if it's present in the arduino IDE, whenever I try to upload something I getCode: [Select]avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x30
and in dmesgCode: [Select][ 3982.834825] xhci_hcd 0000:04:00.0: ERROR no room on ep ring
[ 3982.834838] cdc_acm 3-2.4:1.1: acm_submit_read_urb - usb_submit_urb failed: -12
[ 3982.834848] tty_port_close_start: tty->count = 1 port count = 0.

[ 3987.770277] cdc_acm 3-2.4:1.1: acm_submit_read_urb - usb_submit_urb failed: -12
[ 3987.770280] tty_port_close_start: tty->count = 1 port count = 0.any idea? I'm in the dialout group, and even running it as super user doesn't work. kd7eir Sr. Member Posts: 321 Karma: 36[add] Re: Can't upload to arduino #1 Aug 01, 2012, 10:11 pm Try to reload the module as follows sudo modprobe -r xhci_hcd && sudo modprobe xhci_hcdThen see what happens.Are you using USB 3 by any chance? This can be caused by the kernel not liking USB 3. erbedo Newbie Posts: 37 Karma: 0[add] Re: Can't upload to arduino #2 Aug 02, 2012, 07:38 am Hi I tried to do so, but this is the result:Code: [Select]lbedogni@otto:~$ sudo modprobe -r xhci_hcd && sudo modprobe xhci_hcd
FATAL: Module xhci_hcd is builtin
lbedogni@otto:~$ Anyway, I'm not using 3 USB, it's my only one. I think that maybe the other 3 are like the trackpad or similar. kd7eir Sr. Member Posts: 321 Karma: 36[add] Re: Can't upload to arduino #3 Aug 02, 2012, 07:47 am This may be silly sounding, but have you unplugged the Arduino, rebooted, and plugged the Arduino back in? erbedo Newbie Posts: 37 Karma: 0[add] Re: Can't upload to arduino #4 Aug 02, 2012, 07:50 am Yes I already tried that, but it happens regardless of this. kd7eir Sr. Member Posts: 321 Karma: 36[add] Re: Can't upload to arduino #5 Aug 02, 2012, 05:38 pm OK. You obviously have a problem with the xhci_hcd module on your system. And since it

2014-04-20 14:06:05 -0500 ngrennan 1 ●1 ●1 We had some trouble yesterday connecting kinect to a newish laptop running ubuntu 10.04 and with two usb3.0 ports. Testing it with http://answers.ros.org/question/9179/kinect-and-usb-30/ openni_camera proved rather uncommunicative (i.e. no response from the kinect). In the end http://planet.claws-mail.org/ this turned out to be exactly a problem with kinect and the usb3.0 ports as we also found a usb2.0/esata combo port on the laptop which worked without a problem. We haven't got a solution for the 3.0 problem yet. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is it even possible? edit retag flag offensive error no close merge delete add a comment 6 answers Sort by » oldest newest most voted 9 answered 2011-11-13 21:40:52 -0500 MichaelH 106 ●2 ●3 ●2 Hello All, I also got the problem with USB3 and the Kinect. I tried with the an onboard NEC controler and with an ASMedia pcie expansion card. I also got the "USB3: ERROR no room on ep ring" error. The basic problem is, error no room that the bulk-ep-ring is limited to 1, and this will not work with cameras with large data sizes, as the kinect. The exact description can be found there: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-usb/msg49736.html and http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-usb/msg52072.html You will also find a Patch there, wich will work around the problem by enlarging the ep-ring, you will have to recompile your kernel, but this is still better than having not the posibility to use the kinect on USB3 ports. I simply changed the following lines, without a module parameter, as propost in the kernel patch: drivers/usb/host/xhci-mem.c: if (usb_endpoint_xfer_isoc(&ep->desc)) virt_dev->eps[ep_index].new_ring = xhci_ring_alloc(xhci, 8, true, mem_flags); + else if (usb_endpoint_xfer_bulk(&ep->desc)) + virt_dev->eps[ep_index].new_ring = + xhci_ring_alloc(xhci, 8, + true, mem_flags); else virt_dev->eps[ep_index].new_ring = xhci_ring_alloc(xhci, 1, true, mem_flags); drivers/usb/host/xhci.h: - #define TRPS_PER_SEGMENT 64 + #define TRPS_PER_SEGMENT 256 I need this change for my multi-kinect setup. I'm using a HighPoint RocketU 1144A to attach 4 Kinects to my pc :) Just testet the setup, 4Kinects working on one PC all connected to one RocketU card. working like a charm with ROS greetings Michael edit flag offensive delete link more CommentsHi, after some time, i want to update this post for all who are still trying to use the Kinect and USB3. was not clawsker, it was a more like Sylpheed Claws Hidden Preferences Editor, which I of course abbreviated to the unspeakable schpe — unless you know German, I guess… ;-)Looking for the initial script, it turned out it's still on my hard disc:$ tree -Ds claws/dev/oldscripts/schpe/claws/dev/oldscripts/schpe/├── [ 4096 Sep 3 2006] mock│ ├── [ 24456 Sep 3 2006] schpe.glade│ ├── [ 24456 Sep 3 2006] schpe.glade.bak│ ├── [ 315 Sep 3 2006] schpe.gladep│ └── [ 315 Sep 3 2006] schpe.gladep.bak└── [ 1160 Aug 22 2006] schpe1 directory, 5 filesNotice it's dated just 10 years and 1 day ago, yay!That version wasn't even functional, was just a skeleton and an attempt to made a GTK+ GUI with Glade, which, by that time wasn't as good as probably is today (although I've never used it again).Fortunately that idea was abandoned in the following months and the first release in 2007 enjoyed a hand-made GUI, probably more laborious but better suited, IMHO. Was nothing previously set, I simply continued writing, expanding and fixing things, with the hope of completing something… it's not fully completed, but sending it for review reduces some pressure at least.And after tagging it then noticed: $ git rev-list --all --count 600 So, yeah, that's 600 commits since the beginning in all branches. If I had planned it I would have failed miserably to get such exact count ;-) May 09, 2016 11:32 PM April 25, 2016 Ricardo Mones Maximum number of clients reached Error: Can't open display: :0 Today it happened again: you try to open some program and nothing happens.
