If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question. If your MBR were erased, GRUB would not run at all. What is happening here is that the MBR code is running, and has been told to look on the partition with the UUID of 58abf29c... for the configuration menu. Most likely, this was the partition you erased, so it doesn't exist anymore. The easiest way to fix it would be to download the grub boot repair CD, which will probably fix it automatically. –Marty Fried May 29 '12 at 16:22 A complete answer is here askubuntu.com/questions/125428/… –Bryce Nov 11 '13 at 17:58 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 14 down vote accepted Re-install your GRUB. Since, i had this problem before with my Windows XP, i thought i know how to fix this. Then i tried running Windows 7 Live CD to enter the command prompt. Then i typed this: FIXBOOT and FIXMBR. Restarted it, but, nothing happened. 4. I tried also BOOTREC.EXE /FIXMBR and BOOTREC.EXE /FIXMBR. Still, nothing happened. 5. I tried to re-install Ubuntu 10.10. It appeared, just fine. The Ubuntu ran well. But my Windows 7 still won't load. Only blank screen. 6. I tried to make partition out of my Unallocated memory and made it in NTFS format. I ran GParted Live CD. Still nothing happened with my Windows 7. 6. Last, i tried another suggestion just like from here: BOOTSECT /NT60 ALL and now even the Ubuntu won't load too. Only gives me BLANK SCREEN. Please, help m
