Share this conversation Expert: David replied4 years ago. Hi my name is XXXXX XXXXX I'll do my best to answer your question.Disk Utility on the install disc compares the permissions on Packages that are on the install disc against those that are installed on the hard drive, and then repairs them. When you see this message it means it cannot find those Packages on the hard disk. The file has been lost or deleted on the hard drive. To fix this just continue on the install disc and perform an Archive & Install Preserving User and Network Settings.Continue the installer until the stage 'Select Destination' and then click the Options button. Make sure it is set to Archive & Install and Preserve User & Network Settings. When you restart, you should update all software through -> Software Update, before you use any software.Kind regards,David.
