Does anyone have any ideas? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6320529/pyqt-import-error I thought that posting here may be a better choice, since in a programming forum there should be people using python and if this is a known problem an answer will surely be at hand Thanks in advance.R. I find difficult to believe I'm the only one since the problem seems to have spread in my systems, including my laptop and my main system. It has to be some setting/package name that was changed or something...Any help will be appreciated.R Offline #5 2008-03-15 16:32:48 Shaika-Dzari Member From: Québec, Canada Registered: 2006-04-14 Posts: 436 Website Re: ImportError: No module named qt [SOLVED] Hello!Official qt package is qt 4.I don't know where you found qt4 package ( from community??) but you should uninstall it.$QTDIR is only used by qt3 now. You can see each qt3 variable in /etc/profile.d/qt3.sh.What exactl

For a project I am working on for school, I need to use pyqt4 instead of pyqt3 however, I'm having trouble installing pyqt4. I first removed python-qt3 and qt3 designer via sudo apt-get remove and I've installed python-qt4 & qt4 designer via sudo apt-get install. However, when I try to test out my project that I created in qt3 designer, it gives me this error From qt import * Import error: no module named qt Does this mean that I don't have the correct packages of qt4 installed? Also, am I getting this error because I created the project via qt3 and I am trying to run it using qt4? Basically, I want to know exactly which packages I need to install via the ubuntu command line to make pyqt4 work properly on ubuntu (and qt4 designer), because I seem to be doing something wrong here. Thank you.
