When I use the 'save' icon or 'save'/'save as' from the file menu error saving in the figure, I get the error message "Error using savefig (line 128) No file name specified." (obviously I have specified file names; I've tried overwriting a figure I was previously able to save so presumably it's not to do with the specific name I tried using). When I tried using the command line to save, I got the following: >> saveas(figure(1),'vel2|vel1_hist','fig') Error using savefig (line 128) No file name specified. Error in saveasfig (line 6) savefig(h, name); error saving file Error in saveas (line 140) feval( ['saveas' format], h, name ) I'm able to save in other formats such as .png, using the usual option in the file menu. I've had this problem once before, about a week ago, after trying (and failing) to use a c++ file in matlab for the first time; I reinstalled Matlab and it worked fine for a while, and this time it stopped working without me trying anything new beforehand. Any help greatly appreciated! Microsoft Excel may be able to save the file by removing or repairing some features. To make the repairs in a new file, click Continue. To cancel saving the file, click Cancel". I have searched for the problem and I found some solutions that say I have to reinstall office. Do you think this is the right solution? microsoft-excel microsoft-excel-2010 microsoft-office share|improve this question asked Nov 21 '14 at 21:06 Nasser 10314 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote From your content I believe that you are having issues in opening certain excel files and not the whole files. This might be due to file corruption issue. To fix this corruption you can use file--> Open button, and then click Open and Repair. Try this: Create a user account in control panel, with administrater privileges, and give this name for the account: apple (if this the problem, must be work the save, becouse not have any unwanted character). I also suggest for you, save as in this this name: apple And if this dident work: Crtl+a, crtl+C, create a new file in name of tea or somethink like that (short name max 5 character and so simple as possible) and paste the text the the new file, and save it! share|improve this answe
