From time to time I obtain error message when I try to save Calc Spreadsheet: "Error saving the document : Write error. The file could not be written. Screenshot follows: I can not describe exact scenario how to reproduce the bug. This is because this error appears in different moments. Usually this https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=41278 is after some non-trivial editing of cells, e.g. adding several lines in one cell, adding pages, inserting row. If I save document after every small operation (e.g. adding several words to one cell and save it), then error does not appear. I obtained similar error with Open Office. I use Windows Vista x86 platform. How to avoid this error? Usually if I have described bug (say in file A.ods), then I create temp.ods. Then copy/paste changes to temp.ods. Close A.ods without saving, close temp.ods saving changes. Then I open A.ods, add content from temp.ods back. After this I save changes in A.ods exactly in the same location without issues.sergtk( 2014-08-30 14:36:40 +0200 )editI get the same issue with no discernable cause. Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2008 12:28:09 +0100 Package: openoffice.org Version: 1:2.3.1-5 Severity: critical Justification: causes serious data loss Sometimes - still not clear when - I can not save the file. After pressing Ctrl+S I get: Error saving the document. Write Error. The file could not be written. It happend already in Writer and in Calc. Save As causing the same error message. After OO restart it wors. But changes are either lost or saved temporary by coping it to other aplication and then after restart back. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.23 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages openoffice.org depends on: ii openoffice.org-base 1:2.3.1-5 OpenOffice.org office suite - data ii openoffice.org-calc 1:2.3.1-5 OpenOffice.org office suite - spre ii openo
