Join them; it only takes a minute: Sign up Error spawning 'resgen.exe' VS 2008 up vote 0 down vote favorite I just installed Windows SDK (7.0A) and now each time i try to either create a C++/CLI project or compile any existing C++ project i get: Error spawning 'resgen.exe'. I have added C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Bin to "Additional Include Directories" before i installed the Windows SDK Visual Studio 2008 was working fine... any suggestions? My recommendation is to remove all changes made for integrating the Platform SDK. This is not required for the book and it may be that something was disturbed as part of Platform SDK integration. (You can leave it on the machine, just reverse everything that was done to VC++ 2005 EE as part of integrating the PSDK with VC++.) If you can, do a clean re-install of the VC++ 2005 SDK. Uninstall it first and then delete everything left over that might pollute a reinstall, including solution or project files that were created previously. Unless you havAcer, Asus or a custom build.
