I am using Windows Server 2003 machine. compiler always results in the said error. The compiler that I use is Microsoft Visual C++, my OS is Windows Vista. Please Help me. First make sure that the CL.exe exists in your system. If so put that path in the following location. In the msdev take tools->options->Directories->Executable dirctories.
