Description Bishoy Ghaly 2009-04-28 01:53:50 PDT Hi, I'm working on a software that uses Ghostscript as a virtual postscript printer to produce a PS file gpl ghostscript 9.10: unrecoverable error, exit code 1 and then use it to convert that PS file into PDF, so I install the printer driver from ghostscript distro as a printer that outputs to a file and then when finished printing I use the folowing command line to convert that PS file into PDF: C:\>"C:\Program Files\gs\gs8.54\bin\gswin32c.exe" -q -dN OPAUSE -dBATCH -dAutoRotatePages=/All -r300 -dProcessColorModel=/DeviceCMYK -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile="d:\LastPSFile.pdf" "D:\ParaCMYK.ps" "D:\LastPSFile.ps" I also merge another postscript file to ensure a PDFA compliant pdf however I get the following error frequently : Error: /syntaxerror in -file- Operand stack: Execution stack: %interp_exit .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- false 1 %stopped_push 1 3 %oparray_pop 1 3 %oparray_pop 1 3%oparray_pop 1 3 %oparray_pop .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push Dictionary stack: --dict:1126/1686(ro)(G)-- --dict:0/20(G)-- --dict:72/200(L)-- --dict:2/64(L)-- Current allocation mode is local Current file position is 1021 AFPL Ghostscript 8.54: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1 I want to include the files in this bug-report but donno how. ! Comment 1 Bishoy Ghaly 2009-04-28 01:56:47 PDT Created attachment 4978 [details] lastPSfile.ps the file output from the virtual postscript print driver accompanying ghostscript. Comment 2 Bishoy Ghaly 2009-04-28 01:58:05 PDT Created attachment 4979 [details] paracmyk.ps a postscript

I tend to view PDF and postscript files using the nice little viewer 'gv'. However, since installing Debian unstable a while back, gv has been giving me strange errors. Sometimes I've worked around this problem by using pdf2ps to convert the PDF to a postscript file, and then opening it, but it certainly doesn't always work.
