class="nx">but returned exit code=13 ... javaw.exe -Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.6 ... The problem probably comes from the fact that you downloaded Eclipse 32 bits and you’re trying to use it with a 64 bits Java installation or the opposite (Eclipse 64 bits with a 32 bits Java). Here's a complete print screen of the error: Solution #1 - The Easiest Solution - Download the Corresponding Eclipse Version to Your Java Version If you didn’t change anything in Eclipse configurations prior to starting it, the easiest solution is just to download the same “bits version” of Eclipse as the Java installed on your computer. First, find out what version of Java is installed on your computer. Find your Java Version on Windows 7 Click on the Start button In the Search programs and files box, enter cmd and press Enter In the terminal window, type java -version You should get something like this: If you see “64-bit” somewhere, well it means that you got Java 64 bits installed. Here’s a sample: If that's the case, just download Eclipse 32 bits and you should be good to go! Find your Java Version on Linux, Mac, Windows 8 and Other Systems On Linux Ubuntu for example, you can fire up the Terminal application and type java -version On a Mac, just go into the Launch Pad, type Terminal into the search field. Then you can type java -version. On Windows 8, you need to open up the Command line application and also type java -version. I found this tutorial on how to open the Terminal window with Windows 8. Now that you know what "bits version" of Java (either 32 or 64) is running on
