After few hours searching and reading blogs I found a clue but ubi partman crashed 141 there was no specific solution for it, so I decided to write this article. The problem occurs when the Ubuntu installer wants to check the HDD (Hard Drive Disk) but it was

failing each and every time. The solution I found was in configuring the live disk before loading. Follow the following steps: 1. Start booting the computer with the live disk Configure your BIOS to boot from the live disk or select the live disk in your boot-loader. 2. Entering the advanced menu As the CD boots, the user can gain access to the advanced

page and its options by pressing any key when the small logo appears at the bottom of your screen: 3. Change to Boot Option Then at this point you will see the following screen and then you should press F6 : after pressing F6, you will see a popup that contains "Other Options" and then you should navigate to the "nodmraid" : Then you should press Enter or Spacebar to select it and you will see an asterisk appears at the left side of "nodmraid". Any popup menu option enabled when Esc is pressed is retained, so press Esc and proceed installing Ubuntu from the menu. for more information, check out the Boot Option manual in Ubuntu website: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions It may be also a good idea to read some of the comments in below since others wrote their experiences and workarounds about this matter. However, whenever https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/227186-ubi-partman-failure-linux-down-out I try to install PM5 to the hard disk the install fails with ubi-partman code 10. I have read several general threads for other distros and have tried a few 'fixes' all without success. I was going to go for a dual boot (PM5 + Win7 Starter) but I am happy to install over the top of Windows if that is easier. Any suggestions? « Last exit code Edit: April 24, 2015, 05:45:45 am by Phoxford » Logged Peppermint OS Community Forum ubi-partman crashed - exit code 10 [Solved?] « on: April 23, 2015, 05:11:49 am » PCNetSpec Administrator Hero Posts: 12628 Karma: 1426 "-rw-rw-rw-" .. The 2 NTFS partitions were the Windows C & D drives. The other two I believe were associated with the ASUS Express Gate installation. I deleted these partitions and expanded the two NTFS partitions to use the feed up space. However, when running the install I still get the ubi-partman 10 error. TECHNOLOGY IN THIS DISCUSSION Join the Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I've got Ubuntu running on my wife's PC & so far, it's been great. It's been nagging me to upgrade to 12.04 LTS for a while now, so over the weekend I figured I'd let it do it's thing (very slow dsl here). Running from terminal, so far so good. Then the power crapped out at around 97%... Can't boot into the system now. Tells me mountall: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version 'GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /lib/libply.so.2). Non of the things I find online work e.g upgrade install from disk. No joy. I download the iso & make a bootable flash drive (Lili & unetbootin), thinking to reinstall. I can boot to the live disk, but under disk tools it tells me it can't upgrade because "ubi-partman failed with exit code 10" The drive is present so I decide to manually format>partition, which goes well but it then tells me the partition cannot mount - no free space. Huh? Try a complete new install - ubi-partman failed with exit code 10. I even installed Windows 7 - not a single issue. The iso works in a VM, the flash works on my primary PC. It just hates the one I need to install it on. I'm still getting the hang of *nix, so any help is really appreciated! Thanks in advance. Not available locally, so a very long wait. Besides which, testing the flash installer on another machine it works without issue. Formatted un *nix & from Win 7 - bugger all. Deleted all partitions, recreated - no joy. Tried GPT instead of MBR - nothing. 0 Mace OP Alex3031 May 22, 2012 at
