If you are not the administrator of the server the article doesn't benefit you.I think the error message is a bit misleading, it probably just means some process on the server has locked your file exclusively. This can happen after failed uploads, since the FTP daemon/server uses sub-threads (or workers) to handle transfers. If now such a worker (which has the file's handle in use) gets stuck, the main FTPd and other workers cannot access the file anymore. Even terminating that stuck thread may leave the file locked, if the file handle isn't released properly (e. g. ''handle leak

The server-FTP process may send at most, one 1xx reply per command. 2xx Positive Completion reply The requested action has been successfully completed. The user should return to the beginning of the command sequence, if any. It is difficult to assign a meaning to "transient", particularly when two distinct sites (Server- and User-processes) have to agree on the interpretation. Each reply in the 4xx category might have a slightly different time value, but the intent is that the user-process is encouraged to try again. A rule of thumb in determining if a reply fits into the 4xx or the 5xx (Permanent Negative) category is that replies are 4xx if the commands can be repeated without any change in command fo iOS SEARCH Knowledgebase Common Error Messages - FTP Return Codes Posted by SRT HelpDesk Admin on 16 March 2005 05:18 PM Error: 202/502 - Command not Implemented You will see 202/502 if A) the server does not support the command, or B) the command is not enabled on the server. With Titan, you can disable commands such as PASV, MTDM, SITE PSWD; in which case Titan will return a 502 to the client. Error: 425 - Unable to open data connection You will see 425 when Titan or WebDrive is unable to open a Data Connection to the server. The Data Connection is used to transfer files and directory information between the Server and Client. If you see this error, 99.999% of the time it is because there is a firewall between the client and server and the client is not in PASV mode or your firewall has not been configured to do port forwarding correctly. Error: 450 - Requested action not taken, file unavailable/451 - Requested action aborted: local error in processing. You may see a 450/451 if the client attempts to upload a file to the server and the filename contains an invalid character such as ':' or '%'. This happens when the client is either MAC or Unix. If they send PASS without USER, then 503 will result. Error: 530 - Not logged in. You will see a 530 if you connect to Titan and attempt to peform actions before logging in. If you connect and try to do a CWD or PWD, you will get a 530 because you need to login with USER/PASS first. Error: 550 - Requested action not taken, file not found or no access. You will see this one often. This error happens for a few different reasons: A) if the file does not exist on the server, you will see this error. ie, if they try to delete a non-existent
