Ftp Error 421
I've moved the FTP port to 1121 (and added a iptable from 21 to 1121). I can connect to both ports 21 and 1121, I can request the directory structure, I can download

files, but as soon as I try to upload I get return code 426 "Error during transmission".This probably has to do with that I migrated Windows data to Ubuntu. This was a not-smooth process, but I thought I succeeded (see http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=27850). 13Views Categories: Installation Tags: none (add) repositoryContent tagged with repository This content has been marked as final. Everyday in the early morning, a script on another server (S2) will run and initiate FTP transfer of pulling log files from S1 to S2. The FTP client we're using is built-in FTP.exe in Windows 2000 on S2. Recently we replaced S1 with a new server however we kept the IP address. There are multiple IP addresses on ftp error 426 new S1. Ever since the new S1 was in place, the '426 Connection closed; transfer aborted.' errors haven been occuring randomly. The log indicated that the transfer started ok however the file cannot be transferred completely, as per log below: mget access*.log 200 Type set to A. 200 PORT command successful. 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for access02232010.log(205777167 bytes). 426 Connection closed; transfer aborted. ftp: 20454832 bytes received in 283.95Seconds 72.04Kbytes/sec. The firewall monitor suggested that the connection was setup in passive mode however I've been told that MS FTP.exe doesn't support passive mode. Though I can see the response of 'entering passive mode' from server when typing in 'quote pasv'. My network admin has told me to try the transfer in active mode however I don't know how to open active mode on client side. It's getting really frustrating. Wish someone here has the right knowledge/experience could shed me a light. MSGCPE3101; MSGFTP426 Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) This document describes a potential cause of an FTP reply code of 426 being sent by the FTP server possibly referencing message CPE3101. Resolving the problem An FTP 426 reply code will be issued by the FTP server on the IBM System i products if the file receiving the data from the PUT or MPUT command is too small to receive all of the data. You will see a message on your client within your FTP sessions similar to one of the two following messages: 426 - Unable to close file CPE3101. or 426 - Cannot write to member xxxxxx in file yyyyyy in library zzzzzzz. For all file types, do the following: 1) Increase the size of the file on the server system. 2) Verify the user profile that creates or sends the file has the Maximum Storage parameter set to a large enough value. 3) Reduce the size of the file that is being sent to the server system. 4) If the file is a flat file, ensure the file is not already created on the target system. If the file is a save file, do the following: 1) Re-create the target save file. 2) This message also indicates that records are out of order in the save file. This often happens if the save file was transferred to a system that is not a System i. In this case, the save file must be re-created or retransferred from the source. 3) Examine the Maximum Storage Allowed parameter of the user profile that owns the save file on the target system. This storage determines how big the file can be, and it will cause this error.
