Use the ls command to see what files/directories are there. Also data is a relative path, you may want to try an absolute path for your cd command. 00002 EZA1701I >>> QUIT 221 Closing Session Error codes that start with EZ http://www.unm.edu/~finteam/General/FTP.htm are codes that are issued from the MVS client. These codes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_FTP_server_return_codes can be found in the IBM Software Products Manuals section of the Quick Clicks Page. The book name is OS/390 V2R10.0 IBM Communications Server Bookshelf (TCP/IP) Error codes that are numeric such as the 550 and 221 message codes are issued from the PC ftp error client. These codes can be found in the OS/390 V2R10.0 eNetwork CS IP User's Guide section of the OS/390 V2R10.0 IBM Communications Server Bookshelf (TCP/IP) book. The most common error this the one in the sample above. It means that the receiving server was not available at the time of the transfer. The solution is ftp error 07550 to restrart the job in the abending step at a latter time, when the server is up. User FTP: These are some questions you can ask the User to try to determine what their problem is: · Can you look at the LOGWND and see what error you are getting? (3rd Button at top of FTP session window) · Have you FTP'd recently? · Do you have more than one User-id? · Do you have more than one password? · Are you using the correct password? · What other systems do you log on to? (FRS, HRS, etc on the MainFrame). · Can you try to logon to another system now? · Where you successful, or did your Userid/password expire or fail? Another issue is how their FTP is set up. Under the OPTIONS Tab of their active session select the SESSION OPTIONS Tab. Make sure the PROMT FOR DESTINATION FILE NAMES box is checked and that TRANFER MODE is set to ASCII
good, bad or incomplete: Range Purpose 1xx Positive Preliminary reply The requested action is being initiated; expect another reply before proceeding with a new command. (The user-process sending another command before the completion reply would be in violation of protocol; but server-FTP processes should queue any commands that arrive while a preceding command is in progress.) This type of reply can be used to indicate that the command was accepted and the user-process may now pay attention to the data connections, for implementations where simultaneous monitoring is difficult. The server-FTP process may send at most, one 1xx reply per command. 2xx Positive Completion reply The requested action has been successfully completed. A new request may be initiated. 3xx Positive Intermediate reply The command has been accepted, but the requested action is being held in abeyance, pending receipt of further information. The user should send another command specifying this information. This reply is used in command sequence groups. 4xx Transient Negative Completion reply The command was not accepted and the requested action did not take place, but the error condition is temporary and the action may be requested again. The user should return to the beginning of the command sequence, if any. It is difficult to assign a meaning to "transient", particularly when two distinct sites (Server- and User-processes) have to agree on the interpretation. Each reply in the 4xx category might have a slightly different time value, but the intent is that the user-process is encouraged to try again. A rule of thumb in determining if a reply fits into the 4xx or the 5xx (Permanent Negative) category is that replies are 4xx if the commands can be repeated without any change in command form or in properties of the User or Server (e.g., the command is spelled the same with the same arguments used; the user does not change his file access or user name; the server does not pu
