PMI found this in the MSDN "When setting the Internet Transfer Control URL, Username, and Password properties programmatically, the order in which you http://forums.devx.com/showthread.php?62744-getting-35754-bug-in-internet-transfer-control-for-FTP do it is very important. If you don't set the URL property before the Username and Password properties, you will get the following error: Run-time error '35754' Unable to connect to http://www.xtremevbtalk.com/archive/index.php/t-95738.html remote host Workaround This is sample code for setting the URL property before the Username and Password properties so you won't get the error described above: Inet1.URL = "ftp://YourFTPServer" Inet1.UserName = "Username" Inet1.Password = "Password" Notice the URL property is set before the Username and Password properties. Do not specify the URL again in the execute method. " ACE07-31-2003, 02:09 PMNever mind, it's a "Unable to connect to remote host" error. Now, if I only knew why..... with Execut method results with Error 35754 Hi, I've written a program in order to upload and download files from an FTP server. I am using the internet transfer control with Visual Basic 6.0. I set the URL first, then the username and password and at last call the "Execute method". I run to a run-time error "Unable to connect to the remot host Error 35754". I am able to connect to the ftp site through my browser and by using the OpenURL method. But nothing works with the Execute method. I've read on the microsoft site that if the Proxy server is a CERN proxy server connecting through the "Exectue" method does not work, but our proxy server is not a CERN. I know there was a bug with VB 5.0, but it should not be a problem with VB 6.0. I have also installed all SP3, SP4, SP5 for VB 6.0 but no success. And remember I set the URL before the username and the password. This works: With Inet1 Open "c:\Test_WebDI\File.txt" For Output As #1 If Not .StillExecuting Then Close #1 End With This does not work: With Inet1 .Cancel .Protocol = icFTP .URL = "ftp://ftp.myproxy.com/" .UserName = "rcr352" .Password = "352" .Execute , "DIR" .Execute , "CLOSE" End With I will appreciate any help you can give me, thanks in advance, Chrep Lok Junior System Analyst Sat, 04 Dec 2004 01:12:59 GMT Page 1 of 1 [ 1 post ] Relevant Pages 1.
