Error- Waiting for next try" (translated, originally in German: Transferfehler- Warte auf nächsten Versuch) Server is configured in that way: FTP over SSL (explicit encryption) passive Mode: Data ports: 10000-10001 (PORTS forwarded to right PC at router!!) command port: 21 (PORT forwarded to right PC at router!!) Client contacts in passive Mode. The strange things are: 1. DOWNLOAD works if connecting from within my own LAN in all combinations of active/ passive ftp error code 426 and SSL/ no SSL. 2. UPLOAD (STOR) (over Internet, SSL on) works withput any problems but DOWNLOAD (RETR) fails!!!! 3. System already worked as it should for weeks!! And I really didn't change any essential option during the time the system started to fail..... (at least I think so! ) I almost start to think if it's my ISP blame..... Tested already with Servers 0.9.8c and 0.9.10a and clients 2.2.14b and 2.2.16. Same result! Help me please!!!!! Frank _________________idkfa(@at@)gmx.net write it correct and it works! Data IS transfered until the error comes up. If client resumes often enough (many many clicks) it is possible to download the complete file. Client stops after 5 errors i.e. about 200 kB is tranfered. Watching server's and client's firwall didn't give me any hint. Also already turned off both firewalls very shortly --> no improvements! Everyday in the early morning, a script on another server (S2) will run and initiate FTP transfer of pulling log files from S1 to S2. The FTP client we're using is built-in FTP.exe in Windows 2000 on S2. Recently we replaced S1 with a new server however we kept the IP address. There are multiple IP addresses on new S1. Ever since the new S1 was in place, the '426 Connection closed; transfer aborted.' errors haven been occuring randomly. The log indicated http://serverfault.com/questions/127906/iis-ftp-error-426-connection-closed-transfer-aborted that the transfer started ok however the file cannot be transferred completely, as per log below: mget access*.log 200 Type set to A. 200 PORT command successful. 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for access02232010.log(205777167 bytes). 426 Connection closed; transfer aborted. ftp: 20454832 bytes received in 283.95Seconds 72.04Kbytes/sec. The firewall monitor suggested that the connection was setup in passive mode however I've been told that MS FTP.exe doesn't support passive mode. Though I can see the response of 'entering passive mode' from server when typing in 'quote pasv'. My network admin has told me to try the transfer in active mode however I don't know how to open active mode on client side. It's getting really frustrating. Wish someone here has the right knowledge/experience could shed me a light. FTP transfers are generally working fine - Several FTP uploads and retrievals are running on a daily basis. I have opened a relative big range ftp error 426 of ports (endpoints) on the Azure Portal / side to allow for the passive mode. Sporadically (on an average once every 2nd day) I'm seeing FTP transfers issues like the following: 8/8/2016 9:09:59 AM - USER_FILEZILLA (62.154.Y.X)> MDTM dev_updates/file1 8/8/2016 9:09:59 AM - USER_FILEZILLA (62.154.Y.X)> 213 20160728071048 8/8/2016 9:09:59 AM - USER_FILEZILLA (62.154.Y.X)> MDTM dev_updates/file2 8/8/2016 9:09:59 AM - USER_FILEZILLA (62.154.Y.X)> 213 20160728071048 8/8/2016 9:09:59 AM - USER_FILEZILLA (62.154.Y.X)> MDTM dev_updates/file3 8/8/2016 9:09:59 AM - USER_FILEZILLA (62.154.Y.X)> 213 20160728071050 8/8/2016 9:09:59 AM - USER_FILEZILLA (62.154.Y.X)> CWD dev_updates/Infrastructure/folder 8/8/2016 9:09:59 AM - USER_FILEZILLA (62.154.Y.X)> 250 CWD successful.
