I have access to several different FTP locations, but 3 of them (out
Ftp Command
of around 25) have started giving me similar trouble. They are all on the same virtual server. I do not get the same problem with other FTP clients - they work as normal. If I go to upload a bunch of folders full of sub-folders / files etc it creates all the required files and folders at the root
Ftp Port
level, however the folders all then sit in the queue with retry status, and never quite manage to upload any of their contents. If I manualy go through the folders and upload the contents myself it works, but I'm never going to manage that for every site! An example log output for one of these folders is (domain and passwords xxx'd out): [09:27:47] Resolving host name "xxxxx.com" [09:27:47] Connecting to xx.xx.xx.xx Port: 21 [09:27:47] Connected to xxxxxxx.com. I've put Filezilla Server on the the server at their office and tried to connect from home, but it won't properly upload. The client connects fine, i get a proper directory listing, and when i attempt to upload it seems to work just fine, but right at the end i get an error - 550 can't access https://forum.filezilla-project.org/viewtopic.php?t=5559 file. Then if i refresh the directory listing, the file that i just uploaded is no longer there. This may be a problem with the way i set up the server, and if so i apologize for posting in the wrong forum. However, if anybody could provide me some insight as to what is going wrong, i'd really appreciate it. I cannot upload file to a folder in ftp server. I don't know what is wrong with my codes. I tried other ways to upload but nothing works. Below is my my code: client.connect(Constants.FTP_ADDRESS); result = client.login(Constants.FTP_USERNAME, Constants.FTP_PASSWORD); if (result == true) { System.out.println("Successfully logged in!"); client.changeWorkingDirectory(Constants.FTP_FOLDER_UPLOAD); String _reply = client.getReplyString(); Log.i("REPLY CODE CHANGE WORKING DIRECTORY", _reply); for (int i = 0; i < l_arraylist_file.size(); i++) { File file = new File(l_arraylist_file.get(i).toString()); String testName = file.getName(); Log.i("FILENAME", testName); FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(file); // Upload file to the ftp server client.setFileType(FTP.BINARY_FILE_TYPE); client.enterLocalPassiveMode(); boolean a = client.storeFile(testName, fis); String reply = client.getReplyString(); Log.i("REPLY CODE UPLOADING", String.valueOf(reply)); if(a){ System.out.println("File is uploaded successfully"); }else{ System.out.println("File uploading failed"); return false; } } It log for REPLY CODE UPLOADING returns 505 Access is Denied. I don't know what's wrong or if there's a missing line in my code. UPDATE: Code above is already working. The permission on the FTP server folder is the problem. It needs to be set in full permission. java android ftp-client share|improve this question edited Jul 12 '14 at 11:46 asked Jul 11 '14 at 12:21 dolphinately 391111 Try to give full permission to folder and server file. –Shini Jul 11 '14 at 12:28 @felix can I do that programmatically? or I need to directly do that on the server folder? &nda
